I'LL PLANT FLOWERS!
I'LL PLANT FLOWERS!
personailty:Marian is strong willed and stubborn, yet very compassionate. She hates to see others suffer, even willing to endanger her own life to prevent it. She is proud and often hard pressed to admit she is wrong, and while she sometimes can appear hard and hostile, much of this is a defense mechanism.
Intelligent and feisty, her tendency to speak her mind often gets her into trouble, but she is not content to hold her tongue as most ladies do. She is the caring sort, but can also hold a grudge like nobody’s business. Forgive and forget are two words she is not particularly fond of.
appearance:Standing roughly 5’6”, Marian is of average height and build. She has long, brown hair that falls in waves well below her shoulders and her eyes are a greyish blue.
Marian always appears well put together, as is expected of a lady of her stature. Until recently she was inclined to wear long, simple gowns, and was rarely seen in trousers or anything too revealing. Due to the influence of her best friend, Guinevere, she has slowly adjusted her wardrobe to fit the style of her new home. She still tends to keep her make-up and jewellery to a minimum, though.
history:Marian grew up in Knighton Hall, although much of her time was spent at Nottingham castle where her father held the position of Sheriff. She grew up happy, healthy and well respected and, as most girls do, she soon fell in love.
He was Robin of Locksley and she was head over heels. She dreamed of marriage and children and how wonderful their life together would be. Then came the war. When King Richard rode off to battle, Robin was not far behind, but this was only the beginning of the problems Marian, and the people of Nottingham, would soon face. In King Richard’s absence, Prince John resigned her father and appointed a new Sheriff. He was cruel, taxing the people to death and ordering unnecessarily high punishments for minimal crimes. Life grew quickly hard and, wanting to save his daughter the pain, and to protect her from the advances of a unwanted suitor, Marian’s father enrolled her in the Avalon University. She fought this decision as long as she could, wishing to remain and help her people, but eventually had to bow to her father’s wishes.
After some time in Avalon, during which she kept mostly to herself, she was surprised to encounter Robin there... with a new love. Completely heartbroken, she luckily met Guinevere and Merlin, who quickly became her closest friends and who helpted her adjust to modern times and try to move on. The adjusting she did, albeit slowly, but the moving on proved impossible.
Apparently it hadn’t been so easy for Robin either. After much time apart and many confusions they eventually worked through their problems and were recently wed. Although she is a blissfully happy newlywed now, there are still lingering doubts and issues that she will eventually have to address.
