I'LL PLANT FLOWERS!
personailty: In spite of the fact that Sunny had something of a rough childhood, she has remained blindingly optimistic. It's very hard to upset her, although once you've got your mind set on it, it is possible to evoke a pretty fiery reaction from her if you're annoying, cruel, or just plain evil enough. She's very bright, and has a tendency to use words that most people her age would probably never have heard, much less know how to put into a conversation.
Having been through what she's been through, she is also very determined, and has gained a level of perseverance that can be surprising to people who don't know her that well. She is also extremely fond of cooking, and in her free time, can often be found reading up on various recipes and ingredients to make some up herself.
Having been chased, threatened, and kidnapped for much of her childhood, Sunny is a little skittish of strangers, and tends to be rather withdrawn especially around adults she doesn't know. Her optimistic nature applies mainly to situations, and she has issues with trusting new people. She has lots of acquaintances, but very few real friends because she tends to doubt the motives of the people around her.
appearance:
Sunny, in spite of her somewhat intriguing intellect, doesn't cut a very imposing figure physically. She's still growing, but at present, she stands at just about five feet. She's not largely built, either, but she has a happily rounded face that breaks easily into a smile whenever she's amused (which is often). Blue eyes stand out from her usually pale complexion; her pale skin tone is about what one would expect of a redhead, and the sun usually just turns her pink. She has refused to cut her hair for some time, and it comes just about down to her lower back.
When it comes to clothing, Sunny wears what makes her happy. If this is a t-shirt with an exceptionally odd saying on it, so be it, if it's a perky sun dress, maybe she'll wear that the next day. You won't see her in black very often, but it has happened, and is more likely to if something particularly horrible has happened lately.
She has rather informative facial expressions, and tends to use her smile to win people over. She's been told that it's one of her most redeeming features, but even if it weren't, that wouldn't stop her from using it. Generally speaking, she's the epitome of her name; optimistic and bright, and her appearance tends to reflect that.
history:
Sunny was born into a well-to-do family, and for the first few months of her life, it looked like she would be raised with everything she could possibly need or want. However, as is often the case in life, things could not stay so happy forever, and when Sunny was just shy of one year old, her parents were killed in a horrible house fire that left her (and her two older siblings) orphaned and homeless. Thus began the unfortunate journey through her swiftly passing childhood.
She and her sister Violet and brother Klaus were sent first to live with their "dear Count Olaf," a rather conniving and devious man who set out to make the Baudelaire orphans' fortune his own. As it turned out, he couldn't do that until Violet came of age, so after an ill-advised attempt at marrying Sunny's big sister, he proceeded to chase them down in practically every situation they were placed in. By the end of the whole affair, the Baudelaires themselves had been accused of horrendous crimes, including murder and various other things Olaf (having shed his identity many times to avoid detection) had fabricated.
The events that occurred during Sunny's first two years aren't exactly something she likes to talk about. The memories she holds the dearest are those from more recent times. The end of Sunny's agonizing story, although one could argue that she hasn't quite reached it yet and still has plenty of time to become miserable, seemed to come when her sister Violet finally reached the age at which she could inherit their parents' fortune. With that amount of money in hand, and with the assistance of a particularly absent-minded banker, the Baudelaires managed to find a lawyer, one who not only helped them prove their innocence, but helped them considerably in finding a place to call their home.
Sunny herself was eventually set here to attend school, to hone the knowledge she had gained through so many trying experiences along the way, and to finally figure out some use for all those big words she somehow learned. Since she's been in school, she has also refined her cooking skills, lost something of her tendency to CHOMP on things (she still chews a lot of gum to curb that particular impulse), and has remained loyal and devoted to her brother and sister as well as their closest friends, the Quagmires.
