personailty: Beowulf is a man of few words. He doesn’t see any reason to waste his time on words if they aren’t necessary. Because of this he tends to ignore people. If the question isn’t worth answering he won’t answer. Plain and simple. And he doesn’t care about the way other view him. He couldn’t care less if everyone hated him.

Beowulf is also very cut and dry. He’s one of those people that thinks that everything is either black or white. There is no grey area. It is one thing or the other, and once his mind is made up it is very difficult to change it.

He is also an honest person. He’ll tell someone the truth even if it will hurt someone’s feelings. The truth needs to be told. He’s also blunt and a little tactless.

Underneath the rough exterior Beowulf tries to be chivalrous. He is loyal to the end with people he trusts and respects. He always tries to do the right thing and always tries to help someone in trouble, especially a lady. But he is wary of relationships. He is a firm believer that relationships make you weak. If he has to fight for his country, having a family would hinder his fighting ability.

Overall Beowulf is a loner. Because he doesn’t care what people think about him he doesn’t have many friends. And he doesn’t speak much, which doesn’t exactly encourage friendship. Not that he cares. He’d rather not let people into his life, thanks.

appearance: With his dark hair and hazel eyes, Beowulf is anything but your stereotypical Viking. He is on the shortish side, not that it bothers him. In general he has a way of standing, sitting and moving that makes him seem like he doesn’t care, but when it matters he’ll stand at attention. His keeps hair is shaggy and you’re lucky if he even pulls a comb through it. He’s also ridiculously pale because he spends most of his time indoors instead of outside training or doing something productive.

Beowulf also has two basic expressions; bored and “I have no idea what you’re talking about”. He most often looks bored and it is a rare occasion if he smiles. What’s there to smile about anyways?

He’s still getting used to modern clothing, but he is finding that he really likes jeans and button down shirts, preferably in dark colors, like black. Black is good. Beowulf is also especially fond of leather. Leather is also good. And high top shoes.

history: Beowulf was born in Geatland (modern day Sweden) to Ecgtheow, the brother of the king. Since he was a boy he was a favorite of his uncle Hygelac. He was even treated as a lesser prince. He was a happy boy and had the usual childhood, learning about weaponry with his father, the king, and Hygelac’s sons.

Even as a child Beowulf was quiet. He was often called meek because he was not as aggressive as the other boys. Gradually Beowulf began to separate himself from the others, especially as he reached his teenage years and there was nothing no one could do about it. Both Ecgtheow and Hygelac tried to get the boy to incorporate himself, but the more they pushed the farther Beowulf withdrew until he just stopped training. He’d rather not have people harping on him all the time.

Hygelac and Ecgtheow had high expectations for Beowulf. They both want him to become a great hero for the Geats. When they heard about a school called Avalon in a far off land, both men thought that sending Beowulf away to school might help make him the hero they know he has the potential to be. So Beowulf was packed up and carted off to Avalon. Then there was a big magical storm and now he’s here.
