Zombie Apocolypse! (Open to all!)

Okay, so here’s the scenario: Zombies have invaded Tintagel! Oh no! What will we do? Where did they come from? Well where they came from, no one seems to know, but we can fight back!

So basically zombies are crawling all over the place. Canon AND second gen characters are allowed in this thread, because it’s crack and anything goes with crack (and also because I said so you know you love me). Anything you want to happen can happen here in this thread. If zombies are invading the school while school is in session, that’s cool with me. If you want your character to be a zombie, that’s cool with me too. Whatever you want to happen, just do it! Let your imagination run wild!

I would totally love to see this thing take off. And besides, whoever posts will get more posts for the posting contest and that is always a good thing. Take advantage of it! You know you want to.

Just a couple of things before I set you free.
1. Please keep your posts to about 400 words at the most. I’m not going to be policing this or anything and it’s totally fine if you go over, but it’s much easier for other people to join in if they aren’t reading a novel every post. If you go over that’s totally fine, but please keep this in mind okay? Really really long post can sometimes be intimidating.
2. If you could put somewhere before your first post with your character what role he/she will be fulfilling? I’d like to establish a cast of characters type of deal thing. And be creative with this. If you want your character to be a professionally trained zombie killer, do it! If you want your character to be the person infecting everyone with zombie disease/curse thing, do it! Just let me know so when someone wants to join in they can scan through and see what characters are what. Plus it lets me see how creative you all are

Okay, so now I’m done with all the beginning stuff. It’s kind of long, I apologize. But please, have at it! I shall post very shortly!

Plum awoke with a start, though this was fairly normal for the fairy. She had always been a light sleeper. But she had awoken today to find that she was not alone. She was not alone at all. Her windows had been smashed and broken glass was everywhere. But that was not the worst part, oh no. Things got decidedly worse from here.

She could smell death and that could only mean one thing: zombies. Now Plum had seen zombies films at the movies of course, but never one had she entertained the possibility that they could be real. But here they were, piling into the bedroom, intent on eating her brains.

She quickly rolled out of bed and onto her feet, somehow managing to keep calm even though her life was at stake here. She quickly kicked at a zombie, knocking it down and turning to the next zombie. She was trying to take care of them all, but then she felt something tearing at her elbow and without turning, Plum took care to slam her elbow back into the zombies face. And then it hit her.

The zombie had bitten her and infected her. She was going to turn into one of them.

While Plum was experiencing a crisis back in her room, Lottie was out doing what she did best: shopping. It was a beautiful day, and she couldn’t understand why so many places were practically deserted. How was she supposed to get a new outfit if none if there was nobody running any of the stores? The mall was practically a ghost town!

Except that really strange man who was lumbering towards her.

“I’m sorry, Sugah, I don’t know where anybody is either,” she said, but he just kept coming straight for her. Gosh, if anyone needed a makeover it was him with his torn and dirty clothes, dirtier skin and slouching posture. And just what was wrong with his face? Taking a few slow steps back away from him, Lottie let out a scream when he suddenly lunged for her. Jumping back, she hauled off and whacked him with her rather heavy handbag. It rattled him for a moment, but then he was reaching for her again, causing her to stumble back and fall to the floor.

“Look, I don’t know what you heard, but I ain’t that kinda girl!” she yelled, and as he reached for her again she brought her foot up and kicked him in the face. With high heels. Stilettos, to be more precise, the long skinny heel of which punctured his eye and sent him back a step, groaning. Unfortunately he took her shoe with him, as it was no lodged in his eye.

“Hey, I just bought those!” she protested, but even Lottie knew when to hold them and when to fold them. With an annoyed sigh she pulled off her other shoe, threw it at the creep, got to her feet and ran.

It just figured that the day of the zombie apocalypse was one of her workdays, didn’t it? If it weren’t for that, she probably would have just stayed in her room for a good five hours before even thinking of coming out in the open, and she probably would have eventually seen a limper out the window. But noooo, she had to learn the hard way that there was something very wrong. It was just a good thing she learned a long time ago that you just didn’t go unarmed around this school, because otherwise, there was a VERY good chance that she would’ve been dead right now.

Letting out a grunt, she threw a pretty impressive punch at one of the zombies, praying to the gods that none of their blood got on her, she did not want to risk infection. Mind you, it only did enough to allow her to race out of the circle of the undead that had managed to surround her (because she had oh so stupidly hesitated) so she could shoot a few rounds of cards into their heads. Now where was a good match when you needed it? Because that was about the best way to make extra sure that those corpses remained so…

This was around the time she saw a blonde girl running right at the zombies she had just killed…and yep. That was another one that was following her. Well, at least she was fast, but if she kept this up, Blondie was gonna be dead or zombiefied pretty quickly.

Shooting a couple of extra cards in each of the sprawled corpses’ heads for good measure, she raced over towards the blonde, going in front of her, facing the zombie dead on, and shooting at it until it seemed to fall over. Letting out a sigh at the momentary safety, she turned towards the girl with an incredulous look on her face.

“Never seen a zombie movie, huh?”

“Now really, all of that Caveman speak isn’t going to be doing you any good, sir, so I suggest you move along now,” said Humperdinck, who at the moment had absolutely no idea of what he was getting himself into.

See, Humperdinck prided himself in being able to kill a great many things. Cheetahs, orangutans, anacondas, and people, oh yes, people especially. And those were ones who were, more or less, in perfect health. The young man standing before him was looking far less so. Honestly, that gray skin and the scars? The man needed a doctor and while he was at it, a speech therapist, and Humperdinck was neither.

And yet the poor fool kept insisting on walking over quite pathetically and bothering him with his Neanderthalian ways. Rolling his eyes, he unsheathed his sword. “Well, I did do my very best to warn you, didn’t I Vanessa…darling?” The word nearly made him vomit, but hey, he had to make a show towards this pathetic fool that he was, in fact, marrying a passable woman so he wouldn’t be snickering in his grave.

It was only when he thrust his sword into the man’s chest and there was no sign of any change that Humperdinck had even the foggiest idea of what he was dealing with and fear sank into his stomach.

“…how…?” He glanced over towards his future wife with wide eyes like she could somehow make it better or... “…did you have something to do with this?” Unfortunately, the words came out almost like squeaks, because his accusatory tone had decided it was time to head for the hills when the man didn’t die.

Vanessa rolled her eyes. She seemed to do that a lot whenever he spoke. She supposed she would have to get used to that, since really, she was marrying the buffoon. He really was as stupid as he looked, or at least she thought as much. Sadly, he was her only way of getting a crown so she did the only reasonable thing to do. Offer him her hand in marriage.

She couldn't help but chuckle at him trying to reason with this thing. It may have had more or less intelligence than her fiancee (she wasn't sure yet) so watching him try and play negotiator was her source of humor for the day. It took all her might, but she managed to be sickly sweet when she said this next part. "That did you did dearest." She mentally gagged of course.

That was right around when his sword did absolutely nothing. She was torn between laughing and shock, so the noise that came from her sounded like that. Then he looked at her and attempted to blame her. "Oh love, I only wish I could put that kind of fear into you. Unfortunately, I had nothing to do with this."

There were no such thing as zombies in Geatland, so Beowulf had no idea what they were, but he did know that they were killing people and that was not okay on any level. Beowulf didn’t much care for other people, but he knew that he couldn’t just sit back and let these innocent people die. He was a warrior, a Viking, if he wouldn’t help them then surely all would be lost. And there was something inside of him that would not let other people die when he could help. This was war. And no one knew war better than Vikings.

So Beowulf had gotten out every weapon that he owned so that he could help fight these vile creatures. His hunting knife was strapped to his thigh, his sword belted to his waist. His trusty battle axe was currently strapped to his back and held his spear at the ready as he wandered the streets looking for either the zombies themselves or someone that needed rescuing.

They would pay, they would all pay...
all except him, of course, who would prove himself so wonderfully worthy that they would live happily ever after.

It could possibly be said that Cinderella was just a little bit mad, obsessed as she was with the idea of destiny and expecting love at first sight with a handsome prince, so it wasn't a complete leap for her to become just that little bit more unhinged the longer she went without her prince, or even her fairy godmother, or in fact the slightest inclination that her happy-ever-after was coming.
It was seeing other people getting their happy ever after that really made her flip.
She poured over the books in the library to find a way to make her happy ever after happen, a mixture of science, magic, fairytale and pure madness gave her the answer.

A crisis, a plague to destroy everybody, the perfect situation for her prince to come forward and shine.
Locking herself into the tallest tower in Tintagel, for her protection, she infected her animal friends first, and then sent them out to start biting.
Once the plague had spread, it was just to wait. She had the cure for her prince to find, and all that time to come up with a story in case he took issue with the fact that she started the whole thing... or maybe he wouldn't, he was her true love after all...

Giselle had been one of the first victims to fall to the tragedy of zombieifaction. Of course many of her animal friends were also friends with Cinderella and of course when her friends stopped by the house she was just so delighted that she didn’t realize that anything was wrong at all! And all it took was one bite.

So now Giselle was on the lookout for some lovely brains to munch on. They were just so delicious and she really couldn’t help herself, after all she’d fallen victim to this cursed plague. She just craved brains and the more she ate the more she wanted. And the only thing to do was to find more people to eat their delicious brains. She’d even take a nice deer brain.

Giselle shuffled through the streets cheerfully, or as cheerfully as a zombie can. Her dress had tears and her hair was a mess. Dirt and grime covered her ashen skin as her arms were stretched out in hopes of catching a stray human. “Braaaaaiiiiiinnnnnnssssssss,” she moaned, sustaining the note almost longer than most. “Braaaaaaaiiiiiiinnnnnnnnnnsssssssssssss,” she moaned again and if you listened closely it almost sounded as if she was singing the word over and over and over again.

Todd was locked in his dorm room. He did not like zombies and he really wasn’t all the brave. Sire, he could pretend to be brave sometimes, but he really wasn’t brave at all. And when it came to really scary things like zombies, Todd preferred to leave all the slaying to the people who could actually slay them, you know? He was much better at hiding. He and Jake were really good at hiding.

And okay, he knew he couldn’t stay in his room forever. He just didn’t have enough food to last him too long. Not to mention the part where zombies could burst into his room at any moment and he’d probably scream like and little girl and cry for his parents while clutching Jake to his chest. Yeah, he’d really like to avoid that for right now, so instead he was squeezing the life out of his unicorn pillow pet. Well, that was better than squeezing the life out of Jake, you know? Jake was just a turtle. He was easily crushed.

Todd cringed every time he heard something in the hallway. And speaking of that, were those footsteps he heard? He hoped to god that there weren’t zombies out there, waiting to eat his brains. Todd did not like this one bit.

Gosh, the mall was simply crawling with weird, dirty people who did not know how to respect a person’s personal space. Was this some kind of convention or something? Well, they really should have advertised better so she would have known not to bother to come here today.

Sliding to a stop in her stocking clad feet (well, these hose were as good as rubbish), Lottie watched in surprised as a girl suddenly jumped in front of her and shot something at one of the creeps. She looked from the body then to the girl then back to the body and again to the girl with an expression that was somewhere between disgusted and quizzical.

“Zombie movies? Oh no, sugah. If there’s no sweeping love story then I just ain’t interested,” she replied, turning her nose up at the idea before perking up as a thought struck her. “Is that what this is? They’re filmin’ a movie here?” Even as she spoke she straightened her dress and primped her hair. Being a movie star was almost as good as being a princess.

…oh this girl could not be serious! “No, it is not a movie! These are real live zombies, we’re in real live danger, and if you don’t—“ Which, of course, was around the time she heard the groans of the undead. “Hold that thought!” And she turned on her heel, realized that they were starting to circle them. Crap. It might be a waste of cards to actually shoot them…but there was still time to actually get out, and even though this girl was almost definitely going to slow them down, Della couldn’t just leave her there in good conscience. Damn her moral standards.

Grabbing the blonde’s hand with her free one, they made a break for it…and crap, the circle of zombies was closing…but there was, in fact, a TINY space…this was gonna hurt. Wincing, Della slid onto her knees, almost doing a limbo under the arms of a couple of the zombies, and letting the blonde follow her, and if she was gonna complain, Della was just going to ignore her for now. Right now, survival was the name of the game. If that meant severely skinned knees, so be it. And for good measure, Della turned around and shot some cards into those same zombies’ heads as they got back up and ran.

“I know it hurts, but those things eating your brains will be worse, just follow me!” Okay, they needed to figure out something…they couldn’t just run all day, especially not with skinned knees, not when it was quite possibly going to attract the zombies even more (did it work the same way as vampirism? Who the frond knew?), and she only had one round of cards right now…with any luck, Build a Sword would be of some help….unless of course there were zombies there too…but it might be their best chance…but before she could even head towards there, she realized there was yet another zombie…and it was…was that thing singing?

“Oh for crying out loud,” she muttered, raising her gun again.

Giselle had always quite enjoyed singing so of course she still tried to sing as a zombie. It didn’t work quite as well, but it was still very enjoyable. Why anyone who liked singing as much as she did would surely feel the same if they were turned into a zombie. After all, she was still singing about whatever made sense at the moment, which were brains because she was a zombie now.

But movement caught her eye and she saw a pair of girls who looked like they had very nice brains and she stopped. Giselle turned toward the girls and tried to give a friendly smile, though it came out much more sinister than she would have ever meant it to. She was a zombie after all and they tended not to look cheerful or friendly.

She shuffled towards the two girls. “Brains?” she asked hopefully. She quite enjoyed brains. Any kind of brains. Maybe they had a brain with them that she could eat! Or maybe she could just eat their brains! Oh, that sounded like a wonderful idea, so she shuffled over a little bit faster.

She had nothing to do with it? She had nothing to do with it? But that just couldn't be! Humperdinck refused to believe that he couldn't blame the witch that he was unfortunately going to have to marry if he wanted his damn crown! She was the only logical scapegoat he had, and Humperdinck took great comfort in the existence of scapegoats! If there was anything he needed right now, it was comfort, seeing as he was dealing with a man who didn't just die!

"Well someone must be responsible, and you're the only witch I know! Dammit, woman, take some responsibility before-" 

That was about when that...that thing let out an unearthly and downright unholy moan and lunged for Vanessa.

There was only one thing for the prince to do: scream bloody murder like a little girl who just encountered a particularly unsettling clown.

Vanessa was far from stupid mind you. She knew he was going to blame her anyway. She was magic, and so anytime something happened that was beyond his explanation (which wasn't far) she was the person to blame. There were times when it amused her, yes, but this wasn't one of them.

"I will not take responsibility for this. I had nothing..." and that was when the thing lunged at her.

One thing that ought to be obvious, but will be noted anyway. Vanessa was not easily scared. Quite the opposite really, but this? Was beyond her, and so she screamed something fierce. It was a bloody murder scream, something no one had ever heard from her before. Screeching as she ran away from the thing, she screamed the only logical thing she could at her fiance. "KILL IT!"
