Personality: Helena is a sweet, kind soul. She’s not always the brightest girl out there though. She means well, but sometimes her well-meaning actions get her into more trouble than she imagined. She’s distrustful also, after the recent events in her own life with Hermia, Lysander and Demetrius. She values her friends happiness over her own, and is loyal to them. She also values love and feelings over that of tradition.
She’s also obsessive in love. When she was in madly head over heels for Demetrius she was willing to do anything to get him to love her back. Also, she isn’t very sure of her own self-worth. Despite the fact that she is just as pretty as Hermia, she can’t see that she is, and is constantly telling Hermia to not call her beautiful, that that title belonged to Hermia. She’s also gullible to an extent. Not so much that she’ll believe you if you said the sky is purple, but she has some gullible tendencies to her. She’s also insecure and melodramatic. She doesn’t have a lot of self respect, she always thought she needed a husband to make important.
Appearance: Helena has long blonde hair that has natural ringlets to it. She’s got eyes that are a very light blue. Her smile is bright and cheery, with her eyes lighting up with it. She’s tall and slim as well. She doesn’t carry herself like this though. Rather, she doesn’t consider herself beautiful and her posture and the way she walks indicates that too. She does a lot more slouching than is considered proper. And while she has a beautiful smile, you don’t often see it.
History:Helena was born in Ancient Athens, and spent most of her childhood learning how to be a good wife, along with her best friend Hermia. The two of them had known each other since they were babies, and grew up close like sisters would. Helena was constantly wondering about who her father would set her up with as she grew up, and would constantly ask Hermia what she thought, despite her friend not caring about it.
Soon it was clear that Helena was going to be married off to Demetrius and she was pleased, because she was in love with him. She told Hermia this as well. Soon, however, things changed. Now Demetrius was being told to marry Hermia, which crushed Helena. She stalked Demetrius, and begged him to love her back, making a fool of herself no matter how horrible he was too her. However, Hermia didn’t want to marry Demetrius and was planning to run away with Lysander, and they told Helena this. Helena envies their happiness, but she doesn’t tell them that. She tells Demetrius about the elopement so that she can follow him when he goes to stop them and win his love back. However, he insults her and goes off without her. She was out of breath and stayed behind, and woke Lysander up, thus the spell the faires put him under took effect and he fell madly in love with Helena and out of love with Hermia.
Soon enough she found both Lysander and Demetrius. After the faries found out they had put the spell on the wrong man they put in Demetrius and so both him and Lysander were in love with her. She thought it was a cruel joke Hermia and the boys were playing on her. She ran off from them near tears. However, in her quest to try and get back to Athens, she got lost and ended up at Tintagel, not at all sure where or what it is, or that Hermia’s there.
