Dusty had a lot of work ahead of her and never seemed to have enough hands to do it. She looked around for a moment, her hand on her hips, deciding where to start first. She took in a deep breath and then got to moving. Dusty had to run the queue cards out to the set to place on the bedside table to Mordred. And she made sure they were just as she liked. As she was out on set she realized that the bed had never been stripped and remade. “Cindy,” she called, even as she began to strip the bed herself. “Cindy, we gotta get clean sheets in here,” she called. “Why didn’t the bed get remade? Someone’s supposed to strip and remake it at the end of each taping.”
Cindy stepped out onto the sound stage, snapping her gum. She put up her hands. “Don’t look at me.”
Dusty rolled her eyes at the useless woman as she tugged the fitted sheet off the bed. “Well, now you can make sure these sheets from yesterday get put wherever they’re supposed to go. And then go make sure that the green room is set for the guests.” Dusty paused for a moment from stripping a pillowcase off a pillow to look at Cindy, dead in the eye. “You best be makin’ sure that you’re double checkin’ the list.”
Cindy sighed and looked at her fingernails. “Alright, I’ll go do that.” She started off the sound stage.
Dusty finished stripping the bed and went looking for sheets. She stopped by the office on the way back, holding 2 pairs of sheets in her hands. “What sheets do you want for the show today?” she asked Mordred as she stepped in. “Also, no one stripped the bed last night. Pretty sure Cindy’s in charge o’ makin’ sure that gets done and it didn’t get done. So now I’m cleaning up the mess and that ain’t my job.”
