Everything was actually going pretty well for Milo after the return to school. He had unexpectedly been voted headmaster, so that was a new adventure. He was ready to get things started, and at long last, he was back in the place he really considered home. The first term actually went pretty smoothly, aside from some disagreements with his deputy headmaster. By the time summer break came along, Milo was feeling pretty good. Then, over the break, the pesky vampire on the outskirts of town decided to move his vampire spawn into the school and dormitories, right before it was time for the students to come back for their fall semester. Obviously students couldn’t come back to vampire-infested dorms, so Milo hurried to get some distance learning options set up so that the students could keep up with their classes until the school was cleared out and returned to an appropriate state of cleanliness and repair. Now he is ready for the school to host a Halloween Ball to welcome the students back to their home away from home.

Once again, the stupid humans foiled his plans. Dracula was ready to start a war, an all-out invasion, to take ownership of this town and its magical potential once and for all. But somehow or other, the humans defeated him, they stole back that wretched child, and they forced him to return to the outskirts of town to regroup. He waited, and waited, willing to wait as long as need be for them to let their guard down. He even staged a fake invasion, creating a few dozen vampire spawn out of locals to send to the school during their summer holidays. The humans dispatched of those spawn pretty easily, but that was really the plan - give them a little invasion they could easily deal with to make them feel good about themselves, lull them into a sense of false security. Now, he continues to wait, biding his time until the moment is right to strike again.

Baldr was once said to be the wisest of the gods, but someone might have been exaggerating, because he’s about as naive as they come. He has not a mean bone in his body; he is gracious and kind-hearted and generally assumes everyone else is as well. He is brave, sometimes recklessly so, never backing down from a challenge, especially when it means protecting someone weaker. He also has an unshakeable sense of justice, and if he thinks something is unfair, he will speak out, even if it’s something incredibly stupid, like someone not getting a full portion of chicken nuggets at lunch. He is clumsy as all heck, and is frequently frustrated by his limited set of physical abilities in this world, namely the loss of his ability to do absolutely anything and emerge unharmed. Despite his lack of invincibility here, he still has a couple of his lesser powers; he can create light, and he still has dreams of the future, although they are more vague than they used to be, and sometimes they're very misleading (like movie trailers, where they try to make you think one thing is going to happen and it turns out to be strategically edited and something completely different happens). He is here with his brother Hodr; they were granted permission from Hel to come here after they were both killed in a pretty tragic situation that was definitely all Loki's fault, but he cannot return to his own realm until Ragnarök.

Costin seems to have picked up some of the worst traits from both of the men who raised him. He has Dracula's self-assured smugness, as well as his cruelty and disregard for the feelings of essentially every other individual he interacts with. The circumstances of his life have left him used to getting what he wants when he wants it, and when that doesn't happen, he can get quite nasty. Perhaps the most defining characteristic Costin has taken away from his raising is his resentment for the men who brought him up. They're immortal, and he has known that virtually all his life. He always assumed that he'd be changed as well once he got to an acceptable age, but now here he is, getting older by the day, and thoroughly impatient for that transformation to occur. And yet, for some reason, he's been sent to this school, very much to his dismay.
Ezio is far more jaded and cynical than he has any right to be. He’s not stupid; he’s actually pretty bright, but he has never applied himself, and he doesn’t see any point in trying. He adores writing, and is very good at it, but refuses to share much of what he writes with anybody because he’s convinced nothing he ever creates will hold up next to his brother Altair’s brilliance. Despite his obvious inferiority issues, Ezio adores his brother, and Altair is probably the only person Ezio really ever opens up to. He loves his fathers, too, but every interaction he has with them is marred by his firm belief that they will always be much more fond of his brother. He’s not attractive like either of them, he’s not smart like either of them, he doesn’t have Apollo’s charisma or Milo’s gift for languages, and he is convinced he’s never going to live up to the impossible legacy of being the child of an actual god (with a seemingly perfect older brother along with everything else). He smokes too much, drinks too much, keeps odd hours, and generally just makes his parents worry about him all the time. But when Altair came back and headed off to Tintagel to do his teaching thing, Ezio was not going to be left behind again, train wreck or no. He didn’t have Altair’s qualifications, that was obvious, but he buckled down, studied his ass off, and got a certification to teach lower level writing classes. It wasn’t Altair’s offer of two teaching jobs and one guidance counselor job from the same place, but it let him get away from home and follow his brother, and that was all he wanted at the time
Dan is...well, he's trying. He is a very sophisticated robot and he wants very badly to be human. He has very advanced human behavior protocols due to his mother being a genius of robotic technology, but so far, it is all simulated. He hasn't given up, though, and is trying very hard to figure out how to really feel things for himself. He is the product (sort of) of a love affair between a brilliant AI scientist and one of her creations (a robot she designed to get her into parties with his dancing skills and then eventually fell in love with). He is a hybrid of her genetic material and the technology she developed when designing his father. His home life is incredibly happy (like, 1950s sitcom material but with a kind of nutty scientist for a mom and a robot for a dad), and both of his parents constantly tell him how proud they are of him? How could they not be? He's an extremely talented dancer, singer, and plays several sports whenever he is allowed to (although he has been kicked off of teams before for not disclosing the fact that he is a robot)
