Personality:
Loki is hard to pin down. God of fire? Benevolent? Trickster? Evil? All of the above? Many have tried and failed to classify him, one theologian even going so far as to conclude that no conclusion could be made about Loki - it is difficult to tell whether this is because of, or the inspiration for, Loki's personality. It is as ever changing as his form can be, and as difficult to capture. After all, how does one bind something that can change size and form at will?
Much like fire, it makes Loki dangerous to be around, he can be perfectly amiable about something one moment and deeply offended by it the next, and every act he takes is for his own complex reasoning, layered upon yet more complication. In general he is outgoing and confident in who and what he is in that moment, and is not prone to uncertainty or second-guessing himself. Whether serious or light hearted you can be sure he knows exactly what he's doing, even those things that seem spontaneous often turn out later to have been a tiny piece in the puzzle of a plan, and he's fond of constructing elaborate schemes almost for the fun of it.
Like most gods, the trick is to be as polite as possible and hope you get out of there in the same shape you entered in. And don't ask him for advice.
Appearance:
As a god, Loki can look however he wants to look, so it's no surprise that he chose a rather handsome form this time around, favouring rakish good looks accentuated by the most stylish of clothes. He enjoys seduction so of course he always wants to look his best - that doesn't mean he's always completely tidy, as he's well aware that being just a little artfully scruffy can often be quite enticing too.
Physically he's slim but muscular, wanting to be trim and powerful but not the type to go overboard on the muscles, brute strength was never his thing but he at least has the physicality to be able to defend himself where his mouth can't get him out of something.
History:
Loki is the son of Farbauti and Laufey, making him half jotunn (or giant). As with all gods, Loki didn't really need to bother with that pesky growing up, or rather, he got that over with pretty quickly and without much incident so he could get on with the real good stuff.
His relationship with the other gods was ever-changing due to his trickster nature, sometimes he would just be causing problems for them, other times they were outright enemies - although sometimes he actually helped them out. There was one memorable incident with Thor and some cross-dressing, he'll probably tell you that if you get him drunk. Or if you just ask, it's an entertaining story.
It wasn't just the gods that kept him occupied, however. Loki liked to play his tricks on, well, anybody and everybody. Being a shapeshifter made it easy - it also made it very easy to seduce a lot of different kinds of people, and he has a lot of children - only a few of them from his wife, Sigyn.
Technically speaking, he's supposed to be in captivity, bound up by one of his children with poison being dripped on him for eternity, but let's just say he twisted his way out of that one - although he's well aware he needs to make himself scarce lest his escape trigger Ragnarok, and where better to hang out between now and the end of the world than Tintagel?
