It was very strange to be sitting in these seats. Morgan was no stranger to sitting in them, – that was for sure – but he had gone about a decade without doing so. It was even stranger to watch the students – some of whom were his – come and go and look at him with surprise. He didn't ignore them. Indeed, he acknowledged them with a friendly wave before returning his hands to his lap, crossing his fingers over each other, as if he was waiting for nothing more exciting than to discuss the budget with the headmaster. In truth, he had been called in for the same reason many of these delinquents they called 'students' had been called in – for bad behavior.
This had reached a new level of punishment, for him. As he was now an adult and a member of the faculty, he normally received letters, outlining his crime and politely asking him to cease and desist. Morgan would usually comply – at least for the time being. He would be on his best behavior for a short period of time, but as soon as he felt that the authorities (otherwise known as the headmaster and his fellow teachers) had forgotten about his transgressions, he would start anew.
This time it seemed, they had not forgotten as readily and thoroughly as they had in the past. His crime? Endangering students. Well, he hadn't thought that he had endangered them; he had simply been teaching them. Combat was not a subject for the faint of heart. He didn't consider it dangerous – if you knew what you were doing and therefore, he saw it as his duty to teach his students to know what they were doing. He may or may not have urged two of his students to joust to exhaustion and he may or may not have encouraged them to joust with already splintered lances. To top it off, he may or may not have poured straight tequila over the resulting injuries of one of his students.
So, when it came down to it, he had no idea why he had been summoned to Milo's office for something so trivial.
