Name:
Rhett Hepburn
Age:
21
Parents: Dionysus and a famous actress who cannot be named for legal reasons
Face Claim Adam Lambert
Personality:
Rhett is your stereotypical 'gay best friend'. He is flamboyant, theatrical and dramatic, can be incredibly bitchy and isn't afraid to say it how it is, whether he's talking about your outfit, your relationship, calling you out on something or just telling you how hot you look today. He is owardly extremely confident and a huge flirt, he is obsessed with fashion and adores musical theatre. He is very effeminate and camp, and favours big over-the-top gestures when he's talking - the more excited he gets the bigger the gestures. He does have a tendancy to play up the stereotype of the 'classic gay', however - he feels that it's somewhat expected with his eccentrically theatrical background.
Behind all the flamboyant makeup, drama, outfits and stereotypes though, there is a fiercely loyal and generous friend, who is constantly worried about living up to his parents' legacies. He can act things other than the gay stereotype, but he doesn't want to act, so he pretends that's all he can do, essentially ruling out his father's dreams of him being the next great Shakespearean legend. Truthfully, he embraces the stereotype purely because it gives him the freedom to express himself in a way that he has chosen. But he has chosen music, and his father doesn't approve. All he wants to do is sing, he loves music more than anything in this world but he hides it for fear of disappointing his Dad. After all, the God of Drama and a world-renowned actress (who cannot be named for legal reasons) is one hell of a legacy to live up when you haven't inherited any of their talents. If you are one of the very few people who manage to claw your way past the flamboyant mask, you'll find someone who is deep, thoughtful and creative, who has a hidden book on song lyrics he has written expressing how he really feels - but no one ever sees that.
Appearance:
Rhett is incredibly attractive and he knows it. He works hard to look this good, wearing only designer clothing and spending hours on his hair and makeup each morning. He usually wears his hair swept back in a large quiff, sometimes with a few strands pulled down over his forehead in an artful manner. He has his hair coloured regularly - nothing too out there but a few highlights or a little pastel pink to lighten things up a little. He gets his eyebrows shaped regularly for that perfect arch, and his designer stubble is always perfect. He has grey eyes which stand out against his tanned skin tone and dark hair, and he wears just the right amount of eyeliner to offset the colour and make sure his eyes are the first thing people notice - he's got the smoky eyes look down, and is more than willing to pass on his expertise to any girls (or guys) who need an extra hand. He rarely leaves the house without at least one hand with perfectly painted nails.
Rhett is tall and muscular, he spends a lot of time in the gym making sure of that - you never know when you might be found shirtless, and it wouldn't do to be anything other than the image of an Adonis. Rhett loves tattoos, shown by the sleeve he has tattooed on his right arm, and the various other designs that can be found all over his body. He generally wears tight jeans and tight t-shirts, with various metallic and punk accessories, and he loves his leather fingerless gloves. Although he wears a fair amount of black, he has no problem accessorising with bright colours and the odd white tank top.
History:
Rhett was very much the product of love, and he has grown up happy and safe in that knowledge. His father never spent much time on Olympus, particularly once Hollywood really took off, as he preferred to be surrounded by likeminded people, and would often be seen in various guises wandering the sets of various studio lots, getting involved in the blockbuster hits as much as was physically possible. He met Rhett's mother on the set on one such film, an extra in the background, and his interest in her may or may not have had something to do with her sudden rocketing to fame and stardom.
When Rhett came along, he was laden with the burden of expectation from day one - even his name carried the weight of his parents' dreams and aspirations for him; Rhett for the greatest romantic antihero in film history, and Hepburn for the two greatest starlets in history (his parents decided against giving him his mother's surname so he could succeed on his own merit). Unfortunately, however, despite growing up on film sets, in green rooms and in the wings of some of the greatest theatres in the world, Rhett never caught the bug. He soaked up the atmosphere and the exposure to the uncensored worlds of film and theatre may have had a lot to do with the development of his extremely camp and stereotypical personality, but even though he was forced into acting classes, starred in a few small roles in various films with his mother, it became quickly clear, much to his father's shock and inability to fathom, he had not inherited any acting talents. What he can do is sing, but unless he can learn to act and at the very least become a musical theatre star, his parents don't want to hear about it. He has spent many years rebelling against the expectations and burdens placed on him, much to the disappointment and chagrin of his parents - his mother is particularly happy she decided against giving him her name. He discovered he could write when he was pretty young, something he proudly showed his dad - but as it was songs and not plays, Dionysus once again took no interest. He has been a frequent visitor to renowned gay and drag bars of the LA scene, but occasionally you'll find him hidden in the shadows of an open mic night, just absorbing the music and the atmosphere. He never learned to play any instruments, so he never performs, but he is dying for a stage, a spotlight and a guitarist.
Rhett has been sent to Tintagel by his father as a drama major, in the hopes that the magic of the place will somehow make him the actor his father wants him to be. Rhett isn't hopeful and will be changing his major to music the second he can.
