Technically speaking, the infirmary was restocked. New medicine had started showing up, and Lance had used his duel position to send some more from Grayle directly to the castle itself. The only place that you could get better medical treatment was Grayle itself, which was precisely what Lance had been aiming for. However, that didn't mean he didn't want access to the herbs he knew were growing in here. Supposedly it had already been trimmed back; supposedly there weren't any monsters; supposedly the place was well tended.
Lance had brought his sword anyway.
The greenhouse did look pretty much like a greenhouse; so it had that going for it. But it still struck Lance as being somewhat overgrown, like it hadn't been quite willing to retreat before the magic. He paused at one particularly unruly looking plant, pulling a knife from his boot. He used it to nudge the plant, studying it. It looked like a magical herb he'd used once. But said herb also happened to have some gnarly defenses if you weren't prepared for it.
A noise: something rustling near the entrance. Lance didn't even move. He let his gaze slide a little, and as coolly as possible: "If you're here to help, grab a set of gloves and get over here. If you're looking to hide, grab a set of gloves and get over here. If you're trying to cause trouble: I've got a sword."
Gaston had no reason to be going to the greenhouse. Gardening was women's work, or servant's work anyway. And surprisingly, he hadn't actually been looking for Lance either, despite the fact that he had been chomping at the bit to get the other man alone ever since Gwen's little revelation. Or revelations. Unfortunately with the various distractions that this place just seemed to love to throw at them, kidnappings, deals with pirate, meetings with his new boss - Gaston was still struggling with that one - he just hadn't had time to seek Lancelot out and give him the beating he so desperately needed.
So what was he doing by the greenhouse? Despite pretty much everyone's beliefs, Gaston cared about this ridiculous place, and he wanted to make sure it was well defended. And clearly their new leader wasn't going to do anything about it, so Gaston knew it had to fall to him. He was planning on starting up his 'defense society' (read: militia) as soon as possible, but for now he was content to scout the grounds, to put his military training and knowledge to good use and to see where he would need to focus his energies. Hence: his appearance at the greenhouse, it just happened to be in the area of the grounds he was scouting today.
As he passed the door he heard movement inside, and so, hand on the hilt of his newly acquired sword he stepped inside. He still had his gun strapped to his back, but he had quickly obtained a sword to add to his ever-increasing armoury. After all, if he was going to be a knight of the Summer Country, he'd need a sword anyway.
His face darkened when he saw who was in the greenhouse and his hand tightened around his sword, although he couldn't help but smirk coldly as he heard Lance's words.
