Things seemed to be better, Mordred had sent her flowers and a teddy bear, Lorelei wasn't ignoring her and she'd made some friends, her classes were stressful, but they could be worse, and overall, she was a little more settled now she'd gotten into the swing of things. She was growing to love Tintagel, the small shops and arcades that ran through the town.
And the people she'd met, it was better than she ever thought. Lorelei was sweet, and Tori, and Genevieve. That was without Mordred slowly coming round. Perhaps it was going to be okay here? Perhaps things would finally settle for everyone.
That being said, her stomach was in jolts waiting for Lorelei. What was going on with that? She didn't quite know. She sat in the booth for two, playing with the hem of her jumper, her nose a little red from the cold, she always was used to getting sick easily, and the sudden sharp change in temperate wasn't helping, hence the extra layers.
She just wanted to have a nice time, and have some nice tea, and that was that. She needed to stop thinking it was anything more than that, which it wouldn't be, because it's Lorelei...right?

The closet had won again, vomiting up its random selection of garments onto Lorelei. She still had what was vastly becoming her thing: disconnected sleeves, not quite gloves, stretching over her forearm up to nearly her shoulder. Technically she only had the one: a rainbow colored burst of color crawling up her right arm. Her left still had the brace along her still-healing wrist. A long sleeved top of some kind did crawl black under the sleeves, but the bright orange sleeveless top she strung over it almost blinded, and that wasn't considering the brilliant yellow jeans that she'd gotten from somewhere, or the bright green flats. Really, it looked like a rainbow had vomited on her and she'd scrambled out. She also happened to be holding what looked like two hats, which was probably why she hadn't been waiting for Leela.
"Leela!" she called, waving her "good" arm as she hurried over to where Leela sat. She all but plunked into the booth, which was technically more of a couch. "isn't this place super cool? I got us hats!" and she held up what appeared to be a brilliant violet top hat and a lime green bowler. "These looked to be the most fashionable," she said, taking on a totally serious tone while she put the bowler on her head, grinning wide.

Leela is surprised, her eyebrows rise high on her brow as Lorelei bursts into the scene, she looks great, considering rumour had it / which her brother had confirmed, she'd been stabbed in the gut.
So here she was, sat looking at her, waving weakly back and then there's a hat on her head. It calls, a little big on her over her eyes.
"I....I think they might clash with my red jumper...but I love it very much." Leela admits, sliding the hat back so she can see and at the observation on the cafe Leela nods enthusiastically.
"They sell themed cupcakes based on all the words we come from, have you tried them all yet?"
She's just glad shes okay, that she's safe. It wasn't as though she dying in a hospital bed.
"Thank you for meeting me, I really....I know it's not my place to say, but I'll say it anyway. I really am sorry Mordred lost his temper like that...I...I only found out the real story recently..."
She was determined to get the horrid bit out of the way so they could enjoy the tea and the cupcakes they had on offer.

"Nope!" chirped Lorelei. "I just got here a bit before you did, so I haven't had a chance to order anything. Now I kinda want to try all of them, though we definitely have to try the Camelot one, right?"
Though Lorelei did have to wonder if there was a Summer Country one and a Camelot one or if they just shared one. Sometimes people did seem to think that the two were one and the same or at least connected enough. Probably didn't help that the royals from both sort of married and all that jazz. That and they were super friendly. Lorelei probably would've started chirping about that, but Leela had to go and toss some water on her thoughts.
Lorelei extended her still healing arm, grabbing Leela's hand to give it a squeeze."You don't have anything to apologize for, Leela. I'm obviously doing alright, right?" she gestured at herself with the good arm. "Plus, Mordred and I are alright now. Meredith and I are fine. Everything's fine," though technically Lorelei had an ugly scar on her stomach that looked gnarly, and her wrist was already starting to twinge just from Leela's hand. But hey: bright side of life, right?

Everyone's fine.
It was music to Leela's ears. The young girl slumped a little more relaxed in her seat. "Thank goodness for that. I swear, being Mordred's sister is more stressful than you may think..."
She gave a smile, glad that the other girl seemed so well, as vibrant as ever. She was still overly bright, apart from the fact she was clearly dealing with injuries.
She even felt her face blush at the hand squeeze. What was it with Lorelei and making her feel at some sort of uncomfortable unease every time they met? It's like they couldn't make up their mind.
Leela let go of her hand, to move the bowler hat a little so it was easier to see. She looked over at the counter. "I'll buy you a cupcake, I invited you right, so? Shall we?"

"Well, I'm kinda one of the youngest Summer children, so I do kinda get it?" she offered, flashing a quick smile. If there was any family filled with stress, it was the Camelot based one. Lorelei should show Leela the charts sometime. She just gave another squeeze instead, just as Leela started to release the hand.
"Oh, that would be great!" chirped Lorelei. "I already put in some orders for tea," she pointed. "They've got a house blend that I figured would be good to try and all. So, like, I got that and," she reached forward, pointing toward the sugar. "I'm definitely gonna need plenty of that. I think they do a tea service?"
Lorelei twisted. "I did mention that I haven't been here before, right? Back home, mom just ran tea,' she gave an apologetic smile, not sure what else she could say or do.

Her extra hand squeeze caused another blush. Leela's eyes wide with surprise. She looked down at the sugar, nodding. "Well, I'll go order the cupcakes, and then we're even."
It only took a second, rushing up she took a glance at the cupcakes, and in an effort to be accommodating, and because she wanted too, she bought every variety of cupcake, to even the shop keepers amusement, and when she came back, she brought a tray of 12 cupcakes.
"I thought....we could try them all for ourselves?"
And just as she sat back down, tea arrived. Leela was brimming with delight, as the hat continued to fall in her eyes and she had to push it back.
"Which should we try first?" Leela asked, with a fork out ready for testing.

"Awesome!" chirped Lorelei, all grins as usual. She sat back down, waiting impatiently while Leela went to get cupcakes. Lorelei looked all around her, humming slightly as she took in everything in the shop. There were just so many hats and sights and tea and---cupcakes!
"Wow!" said Lorelei, almost bouncing up when she saw them. "There are like, all the flavors here," she stuck a finger out, catching some icing and sticking it in her mouth. Brown eyes went wide as she let out a little squeal of happiness, wiggling in her chair. "Uh, which one is which flavor?" she asked, pointing around the tray with the finger she'd just licked. "Cuz that finger was mostly buttercreme. Which could go on just about anything and be delicious."
And no, Lorelei wasn't questioning why they had twelve cupcakes for two girls. The answer should be obvious: they were cupcakes.
