Name: Jesse Summer-LeGume
Age: 16
Parents: Queen Guinevere and Gaston LeGume
Personality: The first impression most people have on meeting Jesse is ‘wow…that is one evil looking kid’. On speaking to him for more than a minute they realise that he also appears to be somewhat cold and…well…they just tend to get a bad feeling off of him. It’s not Jesse’s fault though, it’s just how he is, he’s not very good at first impressions and when it comes to socialising, he is supremely bad at it. He always seems to say the wrong thing, or not enough of the right thing, and so he does his best to avoid it completely, apart from when it is necessary. Which sucks for him, because he really does genuinely want to get to know people, because people are interesting and he likes them. In truth, deep down under that cold exterior which he really isn’t trying to put on is someone who just wants some friends, but doesn’t know how to go about it.
Most of his siblings find him unsettling too, not being the little socialites that the rest of them were in their own respective ways. Even his father gives him an odd look every now. His mother loves him, he knows that, as she loves all her children, however sometimes he feels he is disappointing her by not being more like the others. He has tried, he practices smiling in the mirror but even he has to admit that the smile only ever comes out looking creepy and / or evil.
Genevieve is the only exception, she seems to see him for who he really is and the two of them share that special twin connection…which…to be honest just seems to add to his creepiness, but he wouldn’t trade it in for the world. Like Genevieve he loves his parents and his siblings (yes even Jenny but he does not tell Genevieve that) he has a large amount of time for all of them…it’s just…they all tend not to want to spend too much time with him.
So most of the time he tucks himself away with a book or some paper and hopes for the day that someone might see that inside, there really is a lovely person.
Appearance: He has the same blonde hair as his sister which he has kept in the same hair style since he was five because…well…if it ain’t broke don’t fix it. It is also easy to maintain and there’s something about people holding scissors to his head that he really doesn’t like. He is fairly average in height, pale skin and grey eyes. However most importantly, for some cruel reason, his expression seems to be permanently set to ‘evil’. He really doesn’t mean it to be…but it is…and there’s very little he can do about it. It probably doesn’t help that his eyes allow him to give pretty intense stares and he has a habit of meeting peoples eyes when he’s talking to them. He thinks it makes him look more engaged…most people are just freaked out by it.
When he walks it is usually with purpose, in fact, when he does anything it is with purpose, because he heard somewhere that people liked confidence. However, a lot of the time what he thinks is a confident walk comes off as prowling and when he thinks he’s standing in an approachable manner, her really just sort of looks like he’s lurking.
Like most (but not all) of the Summer kids he has managed to pick up a few of the fashion tips from his mother and father through osmosis. It’s not that he really cares about how he looks, but sometimes looking nice makes people like you, so he tends to try out different things to see if that makes him look more approachable.
History: Jesse grew up mostly in the Summer Country with Genevieve, Gaston Jr and Jenny for company, although they did make regular trips to Camelot to visit his father which he always enjoyed. He loved and respected his parents from the moment he knew that he could, however he vowed not to make the same mistakes they had and decided to really focus on his studies. During this time Gaston Jr and Tristian eventually came to believe that their younger brother was not some kind of Demon, although Gaston Jr still had trouble holding a conversation with him that lasted longer than five minutes. Tristian could do better and had a surprising amount of patience for someone who could be very self-involved. Most of the time however he spent with his twin, reading together and learning together. He was not as sure as his sister was that they should follow their siblings to Tintagel, but he did not want to be the only one to be left behind so he followed her there.
Hopefully he would find someone there that didn’t think he was evil…or would at least spend more than five minutes speaking with him. He was going to try, he was really, really going to try.
