Personality: Judy is eternally optimistic. She fully believes that you can and should try everything and that with enough hard work and determination you can succeed in accomplishing your goals. This is part of why she instinctively sees the best in people, sometimes when they don't themselves. For poor Judy this does go to a bit of an extreme: she's almost naive. There's some level of street smarts there, but Judy simply wants to believe in the best of people, so she defaults to "this is a good person" until proven otherwise... and frequently far past that point.
Her zeal in helping others sometimes makes her impulsive to the point of recklessness. Judy's one of those who has no qualms about being the first to run into a burning building or toward a potentially dangerous individual. This is especially potent given that she still has a rabbit's innate flight reflex: some part of her almost wants to instinctively run away from people who are bigger and larger than her, even now that she's on a much more even keel with the people around her.
Still, she's quick and smart, and tries to learn quickly. She'll admit mistakes if and when she mistakes them, which is rare... save for that utter recklessness and determination. She's also got quite an independent streak. And don't get her started on all the jokes about rabbits...
Appearance: Despite being a human now, Judy still has a sort of rabbitish look about her. Her keen eyes frequently dart around to try and take in everything and it's rare that she's not twitching. If anything, some of her rabbit qualities seem to be worse now that she's not actually a rabbit. She's significantly taller than she used to be, a little shy of five feet, though still quite petite for a human (not that this seems to bother her).
Judy tends to wear her uniform at most opportunities. When she's not in uniform she opts for casual wear that wouldn't look out of place on a country girl. So it's not uncommon to see Judy relaxing in a flannel shirt and jeans, though she still has this tendency to opt out of shoes (she marvels at her now tiny feet). She doesn't seem to care much for her appearance, though she does clean up good, and she's unarguably cute (don't call her that though).
History: Judy was born to a rather large family in Bunnyburrow. As in obscenely large. As in she has several dozen if not hundred siblings. She grew up on their rabbit farm, but unlike most of her family (including her well-meaning parents), Judy had no desire to go into the family business. Instead she opted to go into law enforcement, to protect and serve others. She dedicated her life to stopping bullies and getting into situations over her head (again: reckless), and did her best to be the best recruit in the police force.
This didn't stop Zootopia from putting her on the most inane duty they could. The constant parking duty dragged on Judy's soul, as did her coworkers' insistence that she was nothing more than a diversity hire. Eventually Judy saw her opportunity in a new wave of disturbing crime throughout the city. She teamed up with Nick Wilde, eventually vouching and befriending the wily trickster fox. Together they uncovered quite a conspiracy, and Judy became renowned as the savior of the city.
But it didn't sit right with her. She investigated further, discovering an even deeper conspiracy. Thanks to quick wits and Nick's help, Judy managed to uncover the corruption. She was working as new beat officer on Zootopia's first.
Word spread of portals, and Judy elected to go check this out first, even going so far as to tell her partner to hang back. She stumbled over, finding herself to now be hairless and decidedly more apelike than she remembered. She wants to become a protector of the people here, and maybe expand her horizons a bit before returning back home. First though, first she's going to have to get a little more schooling (after all, she can hardly protect these people without understanding them...)

TELLtheTALE
Sample Post: Relax Judy, it's a mixer. Most of these people are probably new just like you. Just don't go up and-- "Hiya!" Judy said to a nearby person, sticking out her hand and nearly colliding with their chest (this involved reaching up for Judy, but she managed all the same). "I'm Judy Hopps; I used to be a rabbit! You're quite tall!" That, don't do that. You sound and look like an idiot. You're a grown adult! An officer of the law, or you should be. Judy kept her smile all the while, waiting for a response before lowering it.
Cheese and crackers this was not going well. Judy tugged at the collar of her shirt, looking around. It felt like her heart was thudding a mile a minute, which was pretty standard, really. The nearly overwhelming urge to turn tail and run out the door seized her, and Judy found herself locking up for a few key seconds. Strange how that still stuck. Eventually she felt a slight nudge, and she jumped, spinning her arms about and "disarming" the person.
"Oh! Cheese and crackers!" she cursed immediately. "I am so sorry! I am just--" she laughed nervously, "jumpy as a..." she shrugged, "Rabbit or some other... jumpy animal. Sorry," Judy forced another smile, looked around for a moment, then tried to focus on the person in front of her. She could salvage this.. somehow.
