Personality: The girl next door was a term that used to be applied to her but since then she has grown out of it to become the classy Queen she is today. She likes to think she is generous and kind, and she really does enjoy helping others, so long as she is praised and appreciated for doing so. She is extremely loyal to those that she loves and would do anything for them, including fight for them. When a person gets on the wrong side of her, whilst she used to just moan and cry about it, now hellfire and vengeance will befall them. She is not above revenge and actually takes some joy in exacting it, especially when someone she loves has been hurt by said person. A romantic on the outside she actually hides a quite cynical outlook on romance after her failed attempts in the past. True love does exist for her and she sees it with all her friends, she just doesn’t think it applies to herself. Loves Fashion, decorating, fighting, debating, watching old romantic movies and chocolate. Dislikes the colour lilac and snobby Knights.
Since becoming Queen of her own country she has become an expert in the displaying of one emotion on the outside, the very picture of calm and grace, whilst a veritable storm goes on inside. However…she has become even more maternal than usual…very…maternal…
Appearance: Everything about Gwen is fashionable from the shoes on her feet to the way she wears her hair. The little tomboy she was in her use very rarely makes an appearance and instead she favours summer dresses or classy evening gowns when she is going out. The only time she even considers her old boyish clothes is when she’s doing some hard cleaning around the flat or some training with Arthur. Average height and weight, brown eyes, blonde hair, pale skin, she uses all this to her advantage in the colours and styles that she wears. The only reminder of her old tree climbing tomboyish ways is a couple of scars on her arms and legs, thin ones barely noticeable, from when she used to climb trees and subsequently fall out of them.
History: Guinevere was born to Queen Maria Du Macha and Consort Leodegrance in the Summer Country, just over the border from Camelot. From a young age she was a happy and charismatic child, whom her father doted on whilst her mother ran the country. However once she had reached the age of 8 Queen Maria took her daughter under her wing and began to teach her everything she needed to know to be Queen, much to the dismay of her father who longed to be King. Guinevere enjoyed her lessons and whilst she strived to be the perfect princess, she enjoyed running through the woods to meet her friend as they climbed trees and swam in rivers. As she grew older though and her friend moved away, she began to focus more on her Princess duties and became even more involved in it, not only learning the politics and etiquette, but fighting and planning wars. When she was 16 her mother died, trampled under the hooves of a wild horse during the tournament. However she was not given the crown as the council, which included her father, decided she was not old enough to receive it and should first be forced to take a husband before she could receive it. Malgaunt, her cousin, who had an infatuation with Guinevere, suggested that he be her husband. Her father said he would think of it despite his daughters protests and said that he would send her away for a time, saying she should learn about the world when really he wished to continue to rule for a longer time.
Guinevere arrived in Avalon, cut off from her friends and family at home, and with nothing much to look forward too. It was there that she met her old friend again, only to find out he was a Prince, not just any Prince, but Prince Arthur of Camelot. At the time she had been dressed in her old walking clothes, boys clothes, and he did not recognise her and so distressed at this and being so improperly dressed she pretended to be his cousin Gawain, who had been sent to train with him. For the next couple of months she trained side by side with Arthur and got closer to him, as well as to his manservant Merlin. She took an extreme dislike to Arthur’s new girlfriend Megara sparking a bitter rivalry between the two which was never resolved. She also became acquainted with Gaston and whilst initially wishing him dead in so far as dropping a snake on his head, she grew to love him. The rest of her time at Avalon was filled with drama, Arthur finding out who she was, making up with Arthur, finding out Merlin was in love with Arthur, falling for Gaston, dating Gaston, meeting Lancelot, having feelings for Lancelot, Gaston cheating on her with Megara, Lancelot leaving her, meeting the new Lancelot and instantly disliking him, meeting Uther Pendragon and attaining a marriage proposal to Arthur.
Through it all however she has had the support of her two nearest and dearest friends Marian and Merlin. She loves them both very dearly even if she thinks at times the two of them could do with a good shake. They've had their rocky patches but they've always made up in the end. There is also Arthur who despite being desperately in love with him for a time, has grown to become one of her best friends (she got over the 'in love' thing...sort of.)
Then the war happened and Levain shipped her off to that island all because she might have got herself just the tiniest bit pregnant with Arthur’s child and then…she was back in the Summer Country, in the middle of a Civil war no thanks to her good for nothing cousin Malgaunt. However with her new husband and his manservant the three of them were able to sort everything out and now she rules with a gentle, but iron clad, fist over the beautiful matriarch society of the Summer Country. Not only that but she makes sure to keep Arthur right, as his Queen, in Camelot.
And not only that…but she has someone else now that she has to look after, someone whom she adores, someone whom she loves above all others, and always will love.
…her son, Tristian.
Other: Gwen is mummy now…oh dear…
TELLtheTALE
Sample Post: The Ladies of the court laughed amongst themselves as Guinevere raised her goblet for another drink.
Still just water for now, although she could not wait until she could start filling it with wine again. However, for now she had to be good, if what Merlin and the rest of her ladies in the Summer Country told her, it was for the best. Lady Prissy pants who was the wife of Sir Boring (Gwen knew that her name was Eleanor and her husband was Sir Lamorak, and would never dream of calling them anything other than this out loud, but in her own mind, at the very least, they could go by these more appropriate names.) was leaning over and fussing again.
Gwen almost snorted up the water she was drinking when she saw the look the tiny baby gave the fussing woman.
It was a glare straight out of Arthur’s textbook glares.
The rest of the ladies laughed and Lady Prissy Pants sat back, laughing nervously.
Gwen hugged her son, stroking the light red hair on his head.
She never thought she was going to be happy with this arrangement. After all, being the ‘beard’ for your best friends was not exactly the fairy tale ending she had wished for. However then Tristan had came along and that more than made up for it. Her own little person that was all hers, oh Arthur and Merlin could fuss over him as well, and he might carry Arthur’s genes, but this little bundle was her and no one else could tell her otherwise.
She had lost count of the number of times that Arthur and Merlin had urged her to go have her own ‘fun’, and perhaps in time she would, but Tristan was enough for her right now, besides, the man she would have chosen to have a bit of ‘fun’ with wasn’t here.
She was just rearranging Tristan’s clothes when she felt a tingling on her skin and the next thing she knew she and her baby boy were being sucked into a portal.
