Name: Dusty Fae
Age: 17
Parents: Anika Fae (old west plum au)
Personality: Dusty is much altered from her last stay at Tintagel. While Dusty is still sweet and kind, she is a bit more reserved than she used to be, keeping her thoughts and opinions to herself. She no longer carries a sense of innocence or naivete. She's still polite and pleasant, but she's lost something. She is a bit quieter and keeps her heart to herself instead of on her sleeve.
However, beneath the quietness and softness is a young woman who is very determined. She has a plan and while there is always room for things to change if need be, Dusty is going to stick with her plan. She is, after all, considered to be an adult in her home town. And she has resolved to be an adult as best as she can be. Her recent troubles have also made her reconsider her faith.
Appearance: At first glance, Dusty looks very old fashioned. After spending quite a bit of time at home she has taken to wearing long skirts or dresses with blouses. She looks very prim and proper, keeping her clothes neat and clean, thoughshe can often be found with her sleeves rolled up if she's hard at work.
Dust keeps her brown hair pulled back away from her face. It's long enough now to be in the way if she doesn't. She still shies away from makeup, but she is making an effort into looking nice. Currently, as is the Victorian trend, she is in mourning and has taken to wearing all black.
History: Dusty was born to Anika Fae in the saloon of Los Avalos, a small town out in the old west of Arizona. She here up an only child, a product of her mother's line of work. She was very loved and cared for by the other women at the saloon. She was one of the family.
However, the rest of the town looked down upon Dusty for what she was. She was mostly ignored, but those who didn't ignore her were not kind. And the kindness of her mother and the other saloon women couldn't make up for this. But Dusty was quiet and bore this cruel behaviour as best as she could.
She attended the school in town as soon as she could. The loved to read and write and learn about places she had never been to and most likely would never travel too. She took solace in those things when nothing else could help. It was just before she turned 16 that Dusty heard about a place far away that could take her away from Los Avalos for a while. After much discussion from her mother, it was decided that Dusty would go to this school. So she packed her things and came to Tintagel. It was a place full of wonder and excitement. There was so much to learn and see and do! But not everything was good for long.
She thought that she had fallen in love with Arkady but it all turned out to be a scheme to humiliate her to raise Arkady's social status. It crushed her and whatever social status she might have had. It was like home all over again. She wasn't the same person and she longed for a letter from her mother begging her to come home. Shortly thereafter she was sent an urgent letter from Los Avalos. Her mother was gravely ill. Dusty left school at once to go home to Los Avalos. But things were worse than she feared. Typhoid fever had swept through the town. Many were sick, plenty were dead and others were fleeing as fast as they could. Dusty cared for her mother as best as she could and many others. Bit in the end it was not enough. Anika Fae succumbed to the fever and joined the ranks of the dead. Dusty, however, stayed to continue caring for the sick. When the epidemic was over and those who had been sick began to recover, Dusty began to make her plan. She couldn't stay in Los Avalos. There was nothing for her there anymore. She would go back to Tintagel. There would be more opportunities for her there.
It took a few months to get everything sorted out in Los Avalos, but Dusty has finally come back to school.
