personality: Despite a rather harsh past, Cinderella is still very sweet and naive, she wants to think the best of everybody and would hate to see anybody hurt - she's very easily taken advantage of because she's so willing to please. It's not so much that she's dumb, she's just incredibly trusting and optimistic. Generally she's a sunny, gracious and delightful person to be around - but her cheer may just wear on your nerves after too long.

appearance: Cinderella spends a lot of time carefully cultivating her appearance, it isn't that she's shallow so much as she wants to make sure she looks absolutely perfect before stepping out of the house, and her morning routine is a long one. She's a very classical beauty, with long blonde hair and blue/green eyes, not that she's terribly aware of it - despite all the care and attention, it's not because she considers herself particularly beautiful, nor particularly ugly, she just wants to look... suitable. She takes very good care of her clothes, being very good at washing them, and always makes sure they aren't ripped or dirty. She wears fairly conservative clothing, high necklines and low hems, liking to keep herself covered up.

history: Once upon a time, there was a very happily married couple who gave birth to a beautiful baby boy whom they named Daniel. From a very young age, they could see that Daniel was different, and he could see it too. He wanted dolls, he wanted to learn to sew and dance, he didn't want to play with swords and bows like the other little boys.
When Daniel was just four, his mother passed away, and the turmoil was enough for him to make a realisation. He didn't want to be Daniel anymore, he wanted to be Danielle. In the wake of his wife's death, Danielle's father had little time for his child, and often spent time on business trips. One prococious mind and an understanding governess later, and Danielle was quickly in position of rapidly-growing hair, pretty dresses and a large collection of, well, everything a little girl would need.
By the time her father's grief had subsided long enough to realise what was going on, the transformation was complete. Though it took him some time to come to terms with, and though he had loved his son dearly, her father came to love his daughter just as much - her resemblance to her mother was a definite help.
Unfortunately, by this time her father had met another woman, and we all know how that story goes. Her new step-sisters and step-mother thought she was strange, they teased her and called her names, and when her father passed away and they became her sole family, they only got worse. They told her that if she wanted to be a girl she had to learn to cook and clean, eventually turning her into their servant.
When she fell for the handsome prince, she found comfort thinking about him - until her step-sisters found out, and taunted her for wanting something she couldn't have. It was the last straw, so she ran away from there to find a solution, to find her Fairy Godmother, or someone equally magical who could help her find a way to win her prince.
