Personality: Rene is one of the Original Rebellious Princesses, though she's less the flighty rebel and more the determined kind. Since princessing was boring, she took on various other tasks to keep her busy, because that's just what Rene does. She cannot seem to sit still, and often seeks out things to do, usually involving helping people in some way or another. Thankfully, she's surprisingly practical, for all that, and is more than willing to listen to reasoning.
Her time at Avalon opened her eyes to certain things, so she's far more acceptable to, say, wizards than she probably should be. Which does help with her current situation. Still, Rene is one who believes that she knows best, and is willing to force others to march-step right along with that idea. Combine that with the natural nosiness, and you've got someone who's great for stirring up trouble.
Appearance: Rene is tall and lanky, though not wholly unattractive for it, especially if you don't mind such things (most princes do, apparently). Her hair is long, dark, and usually tied back into a sensible style. She thought about cutting it off, except her husband happened to comment upon how appealing he found it. While Rene would never admit to it, this is likely the main reason it's as long as it is.
When she has a choice, Rene also favors practical clothing. She sort of understands what it means to dress in a flattering matter, but that was decidedly princess related, ergo it was something that Rene worked diligently to avoid at any and all costs. So when she has the option, she's usually in jeans. Since her latest return to Tintagel, it's mostly been armor. And she's never without the sword now.
She usually looks determined, if anything. Though she is much, much happier these days... for some reason. It might have something to do with the ring around her finger.
History: Deja vu?
Cimorene of Lindervall was the seventh daughter of the King and queen, and her parents likely wished they'd stopped at daughter number six. You see, the rest of the princesses of Lindervall were every inch the perfect princess, almost as if they'd stepped out of the books: fair haired maidens with delicate dispositions. Rene was... different. She was tall, for one thing, and had dark hair, which she never seemed to style properly. To make matters even more difficult, she started asking questions, and not the type that should be asked. Not. at. All.
So there was this arranged marriage, which Rene hardly agreed with. instead, she opted for the other acceptable princess route: working for a dragon. Rene apprenticed under Kazul, and apprentice really is the word for it. Kazul and Rene got on famously, and the relationship worked great. There was this thing with some wizards and such, but it all worked out. Kazul even became King of the Dragons (it's an earned title; queen is rather undesirable, really).
Then Kazul decided to send Rene to Avalon. Of course, she didn't word it like that, else Rene might have protested. Instead, the sly dragon brought matters to Rene's attention, and one thing led to another. Rene arrived at Avalon several years ago, making quite a few friends (several of whom stayed around). She had a handful of adventures, including an awkward rescue attempt, something involving a near coup, and a handful of relationships. Things happened, and Rene ended up back at Kazul's.
Rene dealt with the issue at Kazul's, and attempted to come back. however, she'd barely been there when she heard more rumors. Rene returned, just in time to have a handful of more adventures, the sorts of things that you write books about. Along the way, she encountered King Mendabar, who was surprisingly more tolerable than most royals. They fell for one another in the usual way, and were wed in the most unusual way. There were dragons at the reception, for one thing.
Rene was just starting to settle down when a ragged wizard appeared at the castle. Mendabar was quite put out, and likely would have done great harm, had the wizard not immediately known Rene's name. More importantly, he brought up Merlin, an old friend of Rene's, and said in no uncertain terms that Tintagel needed help, and if she would be so kind as to come along, that would be great.
Rene came. She also didn't come alone: a handful of soldiers were rounded up from here and there. There might have been some witches. There were, however, definitely dragons, some of Kazul's royal guard and one or two that simply liked the king and queen. Mendabar made noises about coming as well, though Rene told him someone had to stay and mind the kingdom.

TELLtheTALE
Sample Post:
Rene, thankfully, didn't need quite as big an entrance. She decided to leave that to the wizard, who did a remarkable job of it. She simply walked in behind him, smiling widely at the group gathered. She recognized a few of them: Arthur, certainly, and the older man looked familiar. It hardly mattered; she would have been here regardless. Now she shifted her stance, the braid behind her swinging. Her armor shifted with her.
"Hello one and all," she said, using as regal a tone as she could manage. "I'm Queen Cimorene of the Enchanted Forest, and my realm is, well, friends with this one. I'm here to offer what help I can."
She shifted, looking from face to face. She had a feeling that they were interrupting something and that the wizard didn't care. Rene found that she barely cared as well. She let her eyes roam; strange, she would have figured there would be more women here. Possibly Gwen, if no one else. And she'd secretly been hoping to see Merlin or Caz as well; it had been so long...
