Lilo was wearing a hat. It looked, well, relatively normal. It had to be "relatively" given the owner of the hat. For you see, this particular creation looked like what happened when you gave a mad scientist sewing needles and a pattern that looked like an octopus's idea of what a stocking cap should turn out being. Except that it glowed at random intervals. And it seemed to almost... spark.
Lilo turned to look at the nearest horse, peering intently at it. "See, I know that this hat has empowered me with truly amazing abilities!" she declared, throwing out her hands. "For it has given me... okay, so I'm not sure what abilities it's given me. Yet," she pursed her lips, looking around the stables at the various horses. They were mostly ignoring her, as any sensible creature would.
"I don't think it's sensible to ignore me at all," muttered Lilo. She removed the hat, sitting it on a stable ledge. Then, she very carefully climbed atop the gate of the stable, perching there and staring intently at the horse. "I'm going to blow up your brain with my mind powers!"
No, no there is no logical explanation for that. I've given up trying. Lilo was currently waving her hands a horse, making noises that suggested that she was going to blow it up with her mind powers, while the hat of narration sat on a nearby ledge. And this makes perfect sense. It's all about context. I swear.
