Personality:
Charming, loyal, charming, caring, charming… Edward has been brought up with all the social graces and niceties expected of a prince. It has been drilled in to him since day one that he will be everything the people want him to be and that is charming, loyal and caring, and yet firm and decisive. Balancing that is something that he’s learned to do over the years and with all the training he’s had he’s got it down to an art. He is a master at feeling one thing whilst displaying another, keeping a calm composure whilst on the inside he’s raging. There is a definite arrogant streak in him, he knows he’s good at what he does and doesn’t care if people are offended by that, although he would rather they weren’t.
Is a patient man, it does take a lot to get him raging mad and instead tries to hide that anger against a rather stoic expression. He isn’t above teasing others however and winding them up, which he used to do frequently to his younger brothers and cousin Jonathan.
Was a believer in romance till recently and was a genuinely happy and caring man. Till recently. In recent days he has become even more stoic and emotionless favouring a more serious expression to the confident smile he used to wear, ever since his chance at the throne got taken away from him just because he lost his wife. The loyalty is still there however, he cant seem to get rid of it, and the charming he can bring out whenever he needs it. The caring…seems to have been misplaced. Along with his wife.
Appearance:
Is taller than all of his brothers and cousin and whilst muscular not overly so. His arms have a lot of definition to them what with all the sword work and archery time he puts in, but other than that has the physique of someone that works out at least three times a week. His hair is a dirty blonde colour which he keeps short. Usually he keeps a well shaven face however nowadays he’s got a bit of stubble, not caring to shave too well.
Has the appearance of a well put together prince that has money and status. He wears clothes of the finest material and the finest style as decided by his swarm of handlers that constantly keep him in the latest fashions. Or at least had the appearance of a well put together prince. Since his handlers defection to his younger brother Edward has been dressing himself and he’s not all that good at it. Dressing in dark colours he doesn’t really care what he’s wearing so long as it covers him.
History:
Edward was made from princely life. From the moment he could smile they knew he would be the perfect little prince. And he was, taking to his training and studies like a fish to water, excelling in them and even appearing to enjoy them. As he grew older he had developed a somewhat rebellious streak. Becoming King, he found, wasn’t something he really wanted to do despite being great at his princely studies. He felt he was always destined for something else but didn’t know what. However in the absence of anything else appearing he had decided that becoming King was probably the best route for him to take. And so the streak was easily squashed and he was soon willing to take on the responsibilities expected of him.
He grew up in the castle with his younger brothers, his sisters and his cousins, although all of them were more like one big family rather than two. Being the oldest, naturally this meant that he was in charge of them all and bossed them around accordingly, although he always believed that he had their best interests at heart.
Soon enough the pressure was on for him to find a wife as he was the crown prince and could be asked to step up to the throne at any minute. This would mean that it would be better if he had an heir sooner rather than later. Hundreds of suggestions were thrown his way, beautiful princesses each of them with less brains than the next. One day, when he was out riding in the neighbouring country he stumbled across a beautiful sound and on closer inspection found it to be the singing voice of one of the most beautiful girls he had ever seen. She had been dressed like a servant but he hadn’t cared, loving the sound of her voice, her pale skin, her lips, her hair. Love at first sight. Returning to his kingdom he told his father of the girl he had found and how he desired to marry her. Of course, outraged his father refused and told him to grow up and pick a real princess. Determined that he would marry the beautiful Snow White girl he returned only to find that in his time away she had been poisoned. Wanting to have at least one chance of kissing those ruby red lips he leaned forward and kissed them. To his delight, the girl awoke and two weeks after that the two were married (After the girl explained to the king that she was actually a Princess)
The people loved the couple and if possible made Edward rise even higher in the publics opinion. However, despite appearances, the marriage was less than successful. Soon enough that first love that had been so present in the beginning, Edward felt began to fade. He felt Snow growing more and more distant from him and rather than look to mend it, he too grew distant, as much as he did not want too.
After their first daughter he fell in love with her all over again, thinking that this would be a good way to start over again. However his duties and her distance from him always seemed to be in the way. Try as he might, something was always in the way. After the second and third child, again he thought maybe they could reconcile, it was not to be. Somehow he knew that after their son was born Snow White would leave and in time she did so, explaining to him finally how she felt about their marriage.
He let her go. Thinking she would be happier. That she might go and realise that she was wrong and come back to him.
Once it became public knowledge that Edward had been unable to keep a hold of his beautiful wife the opinion of the subjects began to change and soon they thought him unfit to rule. When questioned about this by his father and their advisors he denied that this was so, that he had lost Snow, that she would return and everything would be fine. Anxious about the kingdom the King worked harder to get Edward to abdicate in favour of his brother and when the pressure became too much Edward finally agreed, his fathers final words to him ringing in his ears.
After that, Edward began to fade in to the back as Henry drew all the attention. His purpose in life gone he didn’t know what to do any more however he still performed some duties, the duties that Henry was supposed to have been doing as second prince in line. He performed these with as much grace as he could muster but without the usual charm and confidence. When Henry was sent to Tintagel, once again his father turned to him and asked him to take of the duties of the first prince until Henry came back.
Edward told his father where he could shove it.
He then retreated to the countryside, quitting court life and wishing to spend time with his children. This didn’t work out as planned though as he fell into a depression. His children only reminded him of the wife he had lost, especially his daughters, and it made him sad to think his sown would never have a chance at the throne. His one purpose in life had gone and now he didn’t know what to do. He spent most of his time drinking, trying to find some kind of answer at the bottom of a bottle.
Eventually, after some time, the Governess, Evelyn, that had been caring for his children convinced him to go to Tintagel, to seek out his wife and bring her home to her children. To win her like he had done once upon a time. Or else end it for good. Only then could he move on.
And so taking her advice Edward left for Tintagel.

TELLtheTALE
Sample Post:
How had it come to this?
Once upon a time he had it all, everything he had ever desired, well, everything that he was told he desired. A wife, children and crown prince to the throne. Where had it all gone wrong?
That was easy.
Snow White.
The second he had heard that voice, looked on her face…therein lay his downfall. She had cast some kind of spell on him, made him love her, that could be the only reason. This cruel, cold woman, how could she have done this to him? Abandoned him? Abandoned their children? Was being with him so terrible that she had to escape to another world to be free? He had always known that for a long time there had been a great distance between them but he had never thought…he had never…
Reaching to the table beside him he picked up the bottle that was there and drank straight from it, the liquid burning his throat as he swallowed it. It eased the pain so they said, if anything he thought it increased it, and yet he couldn’t give it up. He could drink himself into a coma and then maybe he would sleep, he would rest. It was the only way he could.
She had taken everything from him.
And yet…he couldn’t stop…he couldn’t bring himself to…
She had cast some spell on him. Snow White was a witch that made him love her that, that refused to let him go…
…how else could he explain why, after all this time, after everything she had done to him, why…
…did he still love her?
