It was actually pretty rare for Eric to be eating at the cafeteria. He was such a nature lover that usually he’d be having a picnic on the beach, or even in the commons if he was too hungry to wait to get to the beach. However, there were certain things about the water that even Eric wasn’t going to be too keen on, and one of them was manifesting itself outside of one of the windows. Eric actually wrinkled his nose a little as he watched the rain. Of course he realized that rain was necessary, but seeing as a rainstorm was almost one of the last things he ever saw, you could probably understand why it was hardly his favorite thing. You could argue that he really should’ve had the same attitude about the ocean, but apparently Eric’s logic didn’t quite work that way. Maybe it was just the fact that he was never the biggest fan of rain, seeing as that was when Grimsby was very determined to keep him inside.
And apparently, now, after nearly two decades of having to pretty much drag the young prince inside when gray clouds loomed, he didn’t have to ask anymore. Eric arched an eyebrow as he found the lunch du jour dumped onto his plate. Of course he wasn’t going to complain, per se…this just wasn’t quite what he was used to. He was pretty sure Louis, their chef, would have had a heart attack if he had seen this, but it had to have been edible, right? Otherwise this might turn out to be a not so great day, and Eric much preferred being positive, especially since he had yet to find a “cafeteria niche” at this school, mostly because he was just more comfortable outside…huh, maybe he should start eating in here more. Might find him a solid group of friends, or maybe he’d see the ones he had made already more often.
Well, let’s see….he didn’t see any familiar faces so far…however, he did notice a girl that seemed to be all alone. Now, he wasn’t totally naïve. He got that some people were just loners by nature…but that didn’t mean he shouldn’t ask, right? He needed a place to sit and there seemed to be room…just asking couldn’t possibly hurt, so off he went, armed with a smile before he politely asked: “Hey, you wouldn’t mind if I sat here, would you?”
