There were seriously times when Rene wished she could read thoughts. She knew better than to want a gift like that all the time; it would drive her insane, and likely she would abuse her power any chance she got. But right now, as she stared into Caz's face, she fervently wished that she had just that ability.
Almost as much as she wished that she hadn't said anything.
"I will," she promised. Another nervous shift, and Rene look toward her wrist, as if trying to locate a watch of some kind. That's right; she used an organizational device instead. She'd nearly forgotten. The technology here never ceased to amaze.
Realizing that she was trying to distract herself, Rene instead drew her face back up, smiling at Caz.
"I hope to see you around," she said. Meant it too. Though she wasn't certain how excited Caz would be to see her again. "Hopefully next time I won't have any life-changing, world shaking news to drop on you. I swear; it's not always like that," a smile, "just most times."
She nodded, then turned to go, walking away while trying to remember where she'd been going in the first place.
Caz creased a small smile in Rene's direction, he tried instead to think what this was like for her, to return to a place she was fond of - to find friends not knowing who she was.
He gave a sigh, "Cimorene, wait." he called after her before she could get too far away. The name didn't roll off the tongue like it used too, which was a shame. "I...thank you..."
His face shifted into what could of been some sort of recognition, but it was just the ability to smile in this situation.
"Take care of yourself..." and with that he too disappeared in the opposite direction, squeezing the strap of his satchel. He had somewhere to go, someone to talk too...and he'd never been so terrified to do so.
