The fact that he hadn’t thought of this plan of action before was, of course, to be ignored, because obviously he was just waiting for her to come to her senses. After all, he had been the one to make the first move. It was like chess; you simply couldn’t just not make your move when it was your turn, and that was precisely what Buttercup had been doing. Honestly, the woman clearly had no regard for the rules, otherwise he would have been back in Florin with a crown on his head, and probably a nice war with Guilder going on by now. And he wouldn’t have to worry about producing heir for at least a few years, while the people of Florin were fighting to avenge their beloved princess and their one night queen.
This, of course, was proving to be a plan that wasn’t going to happen because Buttercup was being far too stubborn. Honestly, what was so special about “her Westley” (and yes, his mental tone was mocking what he imagined was a lovesick voice, and even mocking such a thing was making him nauseous)? He wasn’t even a passable Dread Pirate Roberts for goodness sake! At least, that was his story when anyone asked, because admittedly, the man was quite…
ANYWAY! Right now, his best hope was to start looking around where he had first found her. The problem was that it seemed like it was taking him longer to find his way through the forest lately, as if somehow the entire school grounds had chosen to bloody rearrange itself, which of course couldn’t be. That would just be a whole load of nonsense, that’s what it’d be. Then again, he had been handling quite an amount of nonsense as of late, hadn’t he? That fairy was definitely on the list…God, just thinking of the bloody thing made him angry. And it just seemed like no one knew how to pay proper respect to royalty around here. You would think that with the number of princes and princesses, the commoners would know precisely how to treat those who were oh so clearly above them. It simply did not make any sense to him and it was only making him even crankier than he normally was.
But lo and behold, there she was! Letting out a sigh that was half aggravated and half relieved that he wouldn’t have to storm around for much longer, he marched a few steps towards her.
“Well there you are. Now I think I’ve been more than patient, Miss Buttercup, but this is really getting ridiculous. When are you coming back to Florin with me?”
