It was really just the loveliest day outside. Giselle couldn’t sit indoors for one more minute. She would much rather be outside in the sunshine singing happily to her animal friends. They were such a lovely audience. It was really quite encouraging just how kind her animals were. They were so lovely. She was so lucky to have them as friends. They really were the best friends she could ever ask for.

Today Giselle was seated by the fountain, waiting for her animals friends. She hadn’t called to them yet, but they usually came over anyways if they saw her outside, so Giselle figured she would give her animal friends a chance to wander over on their own. Plus, she had a problem. She didn’t know what to sing today. She was feeling quite homesick and it had been a very long while since she had fallen right into Trenale. She was sure that Edward would find her, but she worried that they would be separated for a very long time and that would be quite terrible. She did miss him. He was so wonderful and brave and heroic. But he wasn’t here. He was on his way to finding her, but not quite here yet.

Giselle brushed a hand through the water sadly until the words seemed to find themselves and a tune came into her head and she hummed it for a moment before coming to the words that seemed to be what she needed to say. “Come what may,” she sang softly to the fountain. “Come what may, I will love you until my dying day.”

Helena missed Dimitrius. She missed him a lot. He was her true love, no matter how much he insisted to love Hermia, she knew he was wrong. They should have been married, but Hermia came between them. She frowned at the thought. She knew he was cruel to have played that horrible joke he did on her, but, she still loved him. She figured she always would, and she couldn't understand why he didn't want to admit he loved her. Hermia was more beautiful, but, otherwise she couldn't think of much.

She was thinking about Demitirus as she sat near a small pool of water. She stuck her own hand in, thinking of how this was much like Athens, and she sniffled. She was homesick like nothing else, and wanted to be back in Athens, she didn't belong her. A few tears fell thinking about what happened before she left, and she watched as they hit the pond, oblivious to the red head next to her.

Giselle was often very oblivious, but she noticed right away when the other girl sat down not far from her and she had such lovely hair! Oh it really was lovely, so curly and springy. What she could do with hair like that! And the color was lovely too! Such a delightful shade of blonde. It looked so cheerful, but the girl did not seem to be very cheerful at all. She seemed very sad.

Giselle didn’t like when other people were sad. It was just so…well sad. And she couldn’t just see here and watch the other girl cry, so she scooted over until she was right next to her. “Excuse me,” she said, hoping she didn’t startle the other girl. That would not be good to startle her when she was already so sad. “I could help but notice that you looked so sad and you were crying and I’m very sorry about whatever has made you sad, but I’m sure there must be something that I could do to help cheer you up.” Giselle was convinced really. There was always something that could be done to cheer someone up!

Helena usually didn't pay much mind to other people around her. She lived in her sad, lonely world without her best friend orr her true love, so when the red head startled her she was surprised and looked at her. She was quite beautiful, not as beautiful as Hermia of course, and that thought made her swallow a lump in her own throat.

"Oh, I'm fine. It's....alright." She looked back at the water, still longing for Athens and Demitrius. But she thought she might as well introduce herself to the red head. "I'm Helena. What's your name?"

Giselle didn’t really know what to do now. She had tried to be friendly and that seemed to work a little bit, but she still seemed sad. So very very sad and that made Giselle feel very very sad because sad were just so sad she couldn’t help but feel sad with them. It was really terrible feeling sad too.

She brighten up a bit when the girl said her name was Helena. That was such a lovely name. “Oh, you have a lovely name,” she told Helena. “I’m Giselle from Andalasia. I’m afraid my name isn’t quite as lovely as yours is, but your name suits you very well I think. It’s lovely and you are lovely too.”

Helena looked back up at her. Giselle, it was a pretty name. Too her it was prettier than her own name. "I'm from Athens, and it's nice to meet you Giselle." She adjusted so she was looking more at Giselle. She seemed very happy today. She wasn't sure why, but a small smile appeared on Helena's own face at Giselle's.

"You're very pretty Giselle, and your name matches you." She thought she should return the complement she had received, what with good manners and all. She didn't want Giselle to think she was rude, that would be horrible of her, and mean, and Giselle was being very friendly to her, so it only seemed right to return the favor back.

Giselle had never heard of Athens, but she hadn’t heard of a lot of places that people were from. She had never had a geography lesson in her life. Well, not the normal kind anyway. Her kind of geography lessons were more along the sort of how an animal would find a place, like the silver birch next to the blackberry bush in the meadow of the forest. But then again, when you have only forest animals for friends you get a rather different education. “I’ve never heard of Athens,” she informed Helena, “but it sounds very nice.”

Oh, and wasn’t that just so kind of Helena to say? How very nice indeed. It seemed that no matter where Giselle went she bumped into some of the most kind people she’d ever met and Helena was no exception. “Well thank you. That’s very kind of you to say,” she said with a bright smile.

Helena managed a smile, which ever since everything that had happened was pretty rare. Giselle seemed sweet though, and very helpful. She liked her a lot. It was a little odd that she hadn't heard of Athens, but who knew why. There were probably a multitude of reasons why she hadn't heard of the place before. "It's very nice." She agreed.

"Well it's certainly true." Helene was a terrible liar, or so she believed. So she was telling Giselle the truth when she told her what she did.

Giselle was quite ready to believe that Athens was very nice, though she was quite apt to believe just about anything anyone told her. She always thought that everyone was honest. So when Helena said that Athens was a very nice place, she believed her. “What’s it like?” Giselle asked curiously. She really had very been anywhere other than Andalasia and now here so she was very curious what other places were like.

“Oh, well aren’t you kind,” Giselle told the other girl. And right then she decided that they were friends. Of course it didn’t take much to make friends with other people as long as they were kind and well mannered. So of course Giselle and Helena were friends. Why wouldn’t they be friends?

Helena had to think about that for a moment. What was Athens like? She supposed it must be hard for her to explain since she was from there, so she didn't see it like someone new there would. That was the only reason. So, she went with something vauge. "It's beautiful." That seemed an apt response.

She had to admit, it was very sweet of her to say that. "Thank you. So are you." She didn't much know this Giselle, but she suspected they'd be quite good friends.

The description of something beautiful, though vague, was really quite enough for Giselle because then she could imagine the rest. If a place was beautiful then it must be simply lovely there! When things were beautiful then they were automatically good from Giselle’s perspective. Bad things were never beautiful. They were ugly or deformed or dark and sinister. But nothing that was bad could possibly be beautiful, so Athens must be a very nice place indeed! “Athens sounds lovely!” she cried happily.

Helena was just such a very sweet girl. “Oh why thank you. You know, I’m sure we’ll be very good friends. And I can introduce you to some of my other friends. Like Cinderella! She’s very nice and she likes to sing. She’s looking for her prince. I think you would be very good friends too!” she declared to the blonde, because friends always introduced other friends. And then everyone was friends and it was delightful!

Helena loved Athens. It was home. It was where everything she knew was. It was where she knew what was going on. Where she knew how to behave. How things worked. It was what she knew. So, she supposed everyone felt like that about their home. that was why we lived there, because we knew how it worked, what to do. "What is Andalasia like?"

Helena couldn't help but nod in agreement. "You're very sweet yourself. And I agree. We would be good friends." But she couldn't help but wonder who Cinderella was and who her prince charming was, but she didn't dare ask.

Home was a lovely place to be. It was comfortable and safe and cozy, but Giselle liked other places too. She liked Trenale. It was very different than home, but it was really lovely. “Oh, Andalasia is lovely. I live in a forest with my forest friends. And the animals can talk. And sometimes there are trolls in the forest that try to eat me, but usually someone comes along to save me. The last time it was my Edward. He’s the prince of Andalasia. And he lives with his stepmother and I’ve heard she’s lovely. I’ve never met her, but I’m quite sure she’s lovely. And the sunsets are so beautiful. Andalasia is just lovely!” She was rambling but she really couldn’t help it. She loved Andalasia. It was home.

It was so lovely that her new friend seemed to agree with her! How very agreeable of her! “Oh, I just we’ll all be very good friends.” Trenale was really turning out to be a lovely place with so many lovely people and friends. It was so lovely here!
