Humperdinck was beginning to wonder just how much more of, well, everything he could take. Just how much was a man's dignity supposed to be tested before he simply shriveled up into an empty shell of what he once was? All he wanted was to get back to Florin, and at this point, he was seriously wondering if the marriage was so worth it that he had to face challenges such as actually having to take this stupid class. The saddest part of all was the fact that this was actually the least of his worries, that was, until he was informed that apparently this Aphrodite person wanted to see him, outside of class. He wasn't at all sure what that rubbish was about, but there was no possible way it could end very well, now was there?
The fact that his train of thought even went to such dismal levels was just more proof of the negative impact that this school was clearly having on him. Prior to this stupid Tintagel place, he faced his challenges with the utmost confidence, whether it was tracking a falcon or striking the fear of God in whomever needed the fear of God in them at present. Now, in this strange world where it was perfectly acceptable to for some sugary ice to be doused on him by a bloody pirate and he wasn't allowed to carry his sword with him everywhere, his confidence was starting to fall to pieces, and that could only mean one thing: that he was going to become even more unbearable in self defense.
Exhibit A: he threw the door of his sex ed teacher's office open, having quite the battle face on as he demanded, "Well, this had better be good news," as if he was certain that there was no way it could be good news. This impression was entirely correct, because he had decided that nothing good could possibly come out of that woman's mouth.
