It really wasn’t that big of a surprise that Roger had his sights on Yoshi’s. Sure, in his heart of hearts, he was a Toon. He would always go back to making cartoons, but the fact was that being off in Hollywood was not the best for his family was right now. His family. Oh sure, he and Snow had always been a family in a way, but now…now they were gonna have a baby. That made the family thing permanent. Roger spent most of his childhood without it, unless you counted that farm, and the prospect of being able to be right there for his son or his daughter…how could he say no to that? I mean, don’t get him wrong, he was never upset with Bugs or his mom for not really being around when he was growing…he just knew that he wanted to give his kid something better than that.
Which all boiled down to this; having a job was advisable. Sure, the mother of his child was a princess, which pretty much meant he or she was set for life, but it just didn’t seem right to be mooching off of her royal wealth. And sure, Roger had plenty of cash leftover from several, several, several years of cartoons, and he still got royalties…it just felt like he should be working, because that’s just what dads did. They worked, they brought home the bacon. And if the mom wanted to bring home some ham along with it, well goody! But Roger was going to contribute, one way or another….because chances were he was still going to manage a Mr. Mom thing whenever he was at home. ‘Cause that was just how he rolled.
Because the truth was, part of the reason why he wanted a job at Yoshi’s in the first place was because…well, had you seen the place! It was a candy store! That basically meant that it was sweet, sweet, sweet heaven on earth! Plus, with the discount he could probably get his kid as much candy as he wanted year round! How great would that be? Combined with Snow’s genes and Roger’s tooniness, it probably wouldn’t even cause permanent damage to eat all that candy. He’d just swell up for a second, deflate somehow, and he’d be allll good if he were to gain that much weight.
…y’know, all this talk about eating a load of candy was making him hungry, maybe he’d make a purchase before applying…and so began a joyful almost dance down the aisles as he started gathering up some sugary goodness. And hey, Easter was coming up...although he was avoiding the chocolate bunnies. That was just a little too close to cannibalism for his tastes. But to make up for it, he grabbed a bag of jellybeans that was almost the size of half his body and, not without difficulty (the thing nearly squished him like a pancake, who knew that jellybeans could be so heavy?), he managed to get it into the cart...
Problem was the cart started rolling away from him pretty quickly then. His eyes bugged out before he called out, "Hey, wait for me!" and started chasing after it!
