personailty: As Bright and as Sunny as his job is pulling the sun across the sky, Apollo is rarely seen without his trademark sunny grin. Some say it was even him that taught the Cheshire cat its big toothy smile, but those are just myths and legends. He’s larger than life, everything has to be over the top and over-exaggerated for him and he it likes that way. Which means, when he is on his rare occasions unhappy he acts like it is the end of the world, like there is no hope. As a patron of the dramatic arts you would expect nothing less from him. He is an unbearable sulk at times, especially if things aren’t going his way and is horribly stubborn to the point where the only person that can usually bring him out of it is his sister Artemis. He is a romantic and falls in love at the drop of a hat and falls out just as quickly. To him, love is all about the chase, the pursuing and wooing until he has achieved his goal. The only person in the world that he has loved for a lengthy amount of time is his sister, and not in an incest way. He is fiercely loyal to her and is always the first person he runs too when he is in trouble/upset. Appears to be the dullest spoon in the drawer but underneath works the mind of an evil genius…it’s just under layers of complete stupid and obliviousness to others and their feelings.
appearance: Beach Hunk best describes Apollo with his golden sun tan, bleached by the sun blonde hair, rippling muscles and curly hair. Although he would insist that beach hunks were all called Apollo since he was here first and they were all copying him. Tends to favour bright light colours, whites, oranges, golds and yellows, anything to reflect his sunny attitude. Is also quite fond of fluorescents but has enough sense to be slightly ashamed of this and not openly express it.
history: Apollo is the son of Leto and Zeus and is the twin sister of Artemis. Hera, Zeus wife, out of jealously decreed that the human woman could not give birth on land and so Apollo and Artemis were born…not on land but on a floating island…yeah. Anyways, Artemis came out first and then delivered her brother (weird I know, but hey, that’s ancient Greece for you.) Hera not happy with this result sent monsters after the twins which Apollo killed, Artemis helped…a little. Apollo is the God of the arts, music, drama…art, whilst also being the god of prophecy, medicine and healing, the Olympics and sports and most importantly, young men.
 
Despite his sunny attitude however he has been known to be rather ruthless in the past. Such as in the case of the Trojan war where he took the side of the Trojans and aided Paris’ arrow to kill Achilles. In the ase of Niobe who thought she was a better mother than Apollo and Artemis’ mother, along with his sister they killed all of her children in revenge. He also came up with rather cruel and terrible punishments for those who attempted too or beat him at musical challenges. As well as that, many of the people he became involved with or chased had rather tragic ends to their lives.
 
However you wouldn’t know it to look at him now, adapting to the modern world, filled with people who know longer worshiped him for the God that he is. Instead they love him because he is so awesome and wonderful.
 
He came to Avalon to hang out with the mortals for a time and during that time met Merlin and chased him relentlessly until he got him…and then left him the same night. He doesn’t understand why Merlin is so bothered by this. He has now set his eyes on a new target here at tintagel…
