Personality: Arista puts off an air of quiet, imposing confidence wherever she goes, but it's important to remember that it's an air she projects deliberately. It's safe to say that Arista is a young woman who was born into exactly the right place. Where some peasant girls are born with a royal command and air and some princesses are born without a bit of sense or a lick of skill in leadership, Arista was born with all the beauty, brains, and bad-assery that befit young royalty.
And although she generally chooses her words carefully, when it involves something that she is passionate about (like anything related to fashion), she is easy to excite. She walks a fine line between child and woman - deep down, she is still a bit naive, but on top of her more uncertain interior lies the cool golden shell of a princess who knows her place and responsibility. She is extremely loyal and defensive to a fault of her family. She loves to go out and to have fun, to party, oh the partying, but understands that there is a time and a place to let loose. She doesn't let others see her when she's vulnerable and she rarely lets down her guard.
To sum up: Arista is a smooth and put together on the surface, but underneath, she's really not ready to be grown and has a lot to learn.
But just you try telling her that.
Appearance:Arista is a tall, graceful slip of a woman. In mermaid form, she is shimmering, iridescent gold that glints black in deeper waters. Her hair, kept long in traditional mermaid style, shimmers behind her like a golden web. In human form, her legs seem to go for miles until they reach wider curving hips and a slender waist. She is almost waifishly thin, with a round face and large, alien eyes that reflect an almost absurd impression of naivety or innocence. But you couldn't be fooled if you stayed around her long, because she practically radiates adventure and excitement when you get know her. And once you get past all that royal reserve, of course.
She favors new wave fashion, high fashion and art fashion - all the absurdly odd things that you might see on the runway are things that Arista regularly wears everyday. She simply doesn't have a shy bone in her body - bold clothes make a bold statement without her ever having to say anything. She wears leggings and skirts, odd boots and latex crop tops, all in bright neons with glittery mascara and zebra striped eyeshadow. She wears chiffon shirts over sequined bikinis paired with spike stiletto heels. Feathers in her hair, outlandishly teased poufs, schoolgirl curls and slicked back ponytails are all familiar to her. Orange lipstick, orchid lipstick, ruby red, pale nude - if there's something that Arista hasn't tried, well, it's only a matter of time.
Blending in was never really an option for a girl with as much flare as Arista.
History:Arista was something of a debutante in Atlantica. She was an it girl, the princess with prospects left and right. And though she was something of a celebrity, it wasn't something she really tried for. It was mostly on the virtue of her family position that she was made popular, but she took to the spotlight like a star. Her dress, her mood, her attitude, the way she walked and talked - she was born for limelight, and she knew it. While her sisters chased husbands, Arista chased experiences of all kinds. Her life under the sea was a hazy blur of colors, nights, lights and pure content (always within the bounds of good taste, of course. no real princess is ever caught passed out in a taxi with no panties on. of course, since mermaids don't wear panties, that's a poor metaphor. but you get the idea). Arista keeps it real, and sometimes she keeps it a little crazy, but she always keeps it high class.
But when word came that her little sister was slowly losing her mind, there was no question of who would go to help Andrina. Fiercely loyal to her family as she was, Arista immediately took the task upon herself to go on land and find out what had happened. She arrived at Tintagel with eleven suitcases, two personal assistants and a small entourage, all of whom she quartered within one Trenale's better bed and breakfasts. Why she brought so many companions at all still seems to be something of a mystery, as she is often seen without them and seems to enjoy solitude equally as well as being surround by her retinue. But let us not forget that she is royalty, and must sometimes play the part.
