Life of the Party {open}

[Naveen]

Now this, this was Naveen's idea of a good time. Things had come together (mostly without his help), and he'd even managed to avoid becoming Deputy Headmaster. Oh, at some point Gaston was probably going to try and hunt him down or something, but that was future Naveen's problem to worry about.

Current Naveen was partying.

He was mostly playing his guitar, randomly singing bursts of song while he all but skipped about the party, bouncing from person to person. Wherever he landed he grinned, and his eagerness did seem somewhat infectious. The people around the Bonfire proper wanted to relax, after all. Those that didn't were on the edges. Or at least, that's how it had seemed.

Naveen's party senses had taken him straight to someone. "Hello there!" he chimed, coming to lean near them. "You are here for enjoying the party, yes? You should be up, dancing and celebrating! It is a party!" Naveen laughed, strummed his guitar, and nudged the other person.He'd probably start dragging them into the makeshift dance area soon enough.

[Mumble]

Mumble was, for maybe the first time in his life, not right at the center of a party. It felt weird partying when the person you loved most was rolling around without legs because for some reason, the thing that had brought her back to him had decided she would do just fine with a tail. But that wasn't to say he wasn't drinking; he was definitely drinking, and he had been for about an hour now, just long enough and slow enough to get a good buzz going, and he was starting to feel like everything didn't totally suck.

And suddenly, someone was playing a guitar at him and urging him to get up and dance, and wasn't that a bizarre turn of events? When was the last time someone had come up and told him that he should be dancing? Mumble was a little taken aback at first, but he looked up and gave the man a slow grin.

"Yeah, you're probably right about that," he agreed, setting his beer aside. "Every time I think I'm too stressed to dance, I end up wishing I was dancing the stress out, so I don't know why I don't just try that to begin with. What kind of dance are we doing? I'm in."

"Ha, ha! Ashitanza, my friend!" he clapped Mumble on the shoulder then. Naveen noticed the beer, and he nodded to it as if including it in their little adventure. He'd been partying long enough to realize that sometimes having libations about to lubricate the proceedings helped tremendously. "Dancing is the perfect way to chase the blues away. Well, that or the arms of someone attractive, particularly a someone who has stolen a heart," Naveen sighed, then gave Mumble a wink. "Give it time, yes? Or maybe you already have a someone. You the pajama man, yes? So you have been here before."

Well, at least Naveen remembered Mumble from their rather odd meeting. Naveen was technically there during the whole just arrived let's figure out what's going on. Surely Mumble would remember his being there, as it was rather hard to miss Naveen and he'd been quite... present.

"But yes, I can help you set many of the dances! I also know quite a few myself!" he did a quick and jaunty little step. "But since I did the asking, you should be doing the choosing, yes?"

[Mumble]

Pajama man...that took mumble a minute to figure out, but he managed to conjure up the memory after thinking about it. Right. He'd been in his pajamas the first time he'd seen this man, when they had all been pulled back here unexpectedly. Mumble had been in no condition to be making introductions at that point. He was doing a little better now; there was still the whole fianceé with a tail thing to deal with, but he was back with her. Not physically at this moment, they were both pretty social and tended to make the rounds at parties, but he was here at the school, she was here at the school, and everything else was just details.

"Yes," he said, still smiling, "Pajama Man, I guess that's me. I have a someone. She can't really dance right now, though, she has a tail." Naveen didn't really need to know that, probably, but Mumble was a little buzzed and that made him even chattier than usual. And gave him some random ideas, too, apparently because his mind went a little haywire trying to think of what kind of dance they should be doing.

"What kind of stuff is your favorite?" he asked. "I know a lot of stuff. I mean, there's classic stuff, I could dig up some Gene Kelly, or...why don't we start with a kind of music, because that really sets the stage, doesn't it?"
