Sir Levain of Astolat, knight of the Summer Country and Healer of Tintagel Academy, was currently stuck up a tree holding a cat that thought him to be an idiot.
This deserved some explanation.
Levi had headed to the park to take a walk. Considering everything that was mounting up on him, he needed the alone time. Time to think about events and people and recent happenings. The park seemed perfect, as it was just close enough that Levi could be reached in case of an emergency, yet obviously remote enough. As an added bonus, it was still relatively clear of the war and war preparations.
The knight hadn't expected to have to rescue anyone. This should be peaceful, after all. What he hadn't counted on was the randomness of Fate, particularly when it came to small animals. He'd almost literally plowed into the little old lady who'd been standing by the tree. There had been some communication, mostly involving wild gestures and jumping, and Levi had been enlisted to rescue the cat.
Along the way, some branches had snapped. Ergo the first line up there. Levi shifted, trying to judge the distance between his current position and the ground. The cat was being remarkably patient, showing the type of tolerance generally given to the pets of children and the elderly. Unfortunately, said cat was not providing much in the way of a means down, and Levi was finding bark falling with each shift.
He cursed, adjusting to a more solid perch. How exactly was he supposed to get down now...
