I'LL PLANT FLOWERS!
I'LL PLANT FLOWERS!
personailty: Belle is an adventurous girl who isn't cut out for a simple life in a quiet village. She wants to explore and discover all that she can in life, and loves to travel. Her books are her escape, taking her anywhere she wants to go whenever she wants to leave the little town. While she is quite a dreamer, she's also terribly clever, moreso than most of the girls in town. She’s not one to take risks or do anything without a plan, and doesn’t tend to associate with people who aren’t practical and organized.
Spending most of her time reading, Belle tends to be a hopeless romantic. Like any little girl, she had her dreams of her knight in shining armor coming to rescue her from anything that may set her ill-at-ease. This doesn’t, however, mean that she’s dependant upon others and will bow down to just anyone so that she doesn’t have to be alone. She knows exactly what she wants, and won’t settle for any less. Boarish, chauvinistic men need not apply.
appearance: Despite much of the village thinking her a most peculiar girl, it was undoubted that she was the prettiest girl in town. Her thick brown hair falls to just past her shoulders, with shorter pieces that frame her face. These also tend to fall forward and get in her way when she has her hair tied back (which is most of the time). Her alrge hazel eyes often have a faraway look in them, either from daydreaming or remembering the latest book she read. She's slim and short, reaching only 5' 5" when standing at her full height.
As far as dress goes, Belle tends to choose things that will allow her to blend in, not fond of anything particularly bold or flashy. She’s very much a “jeans and a t-shirt” kind of girl, but she does have her days of wanting to dress up and feel more feminine. Still, she doesn’t do anything with her style to draw attention to herself, usually keeping her hair tied back in a ponytail and her eyes on the ground as she walks.
history: Belle was born and raised in a small town in the south of France, and she knew from a young age that she'd want much more out of life than the village had to offer. She developed a love of books frm the time she could talk, having been read to each night by he Mama before bed. When she was old enough to read by herself, it wasn't often that you found the little girl without her nose buried in a book, most likely a fairytale.
Her mother died when she was four, leaving Bella and her father, Maurice alone in the little town. She encouraged her father to go after his dream of being a world-famous inventor, and stayed at home to help him reach his goals. It wasn't until she was fifteen years old that she began venturing into town, usually to find a new book to read. While msot people agreed that Belle was the most beautiful girl in town, they also agreed that she was quite peculiar indeed. She always looked so lost in thought, and was always reading! And, what's worse, she didn't appear to have any interest in any of the men in town!
Of course, their opinion of her father wasn't much better. Crazy old inventor with the wild ideas. Belle never paid them much mind, keeping to herself and becoming good friends with the bookseller. When she was sixteen, the one man she couldn't stand (and the one it seemed every girl in town fawned over) made it his mission in life to woo and marry her, much to her disgust. She evaded him as often as she could, but there were times where he cornered her, and it was several minutes before she could shake him off.
The fall of her seventeenth year, her father was on his way to the fair with his latest invention when he got lost in the woods, taking shelter in what seemed to be an abandoned castle. It turned out to be inahbited by a monstrous beast, who wasn't appreciative of the sudden newcomer, and locked Maurice in the tower. Belle came to his rescue, convincing the beast to take her instead and free her father.
Eventually Belle was released, sent back to her Father when the Beast grew tired of her moping and mooning about. Upon her arrival home, she was promptly sent off to Avalon, her father wanting her to be properly educated.

sample post: Caitlyn had long since stopped panicking when she awoke unable to move, used to the temporary paralysis that occasionally walked hand-in-hand with narcolepsy. It was a normal occurrence, one of many things she'd grown used to over the years. Laying still and waiting for her muscles to catch up with her, she listened for the bickering of her birds, pleased to find they were getting along this afternoon. The irritated squawking wore on her nerves, particularly when they decided to go at it at two in the morning. Sleeping at night was difficult enough without listening to them. Thankfully, they seemed to be working things out, if that were possible for birds. But, she guessed, it wasn't any different for them as it was for humans. They could very well have come to some unspoken agreement.
Why am I trying to figure this out? she wondered, twitching a little as her muscles relaxed. Odd things like that crossed her mind often. It was disconcerting, sometimes. Did other people think of things like that? Probably not. But, when you didn't have anything else to do... Pulling herself upright, she rolled her shoulders gently, loosening them up. Goodness, it was uncomfortable sleeping hunched over like that. Sighing quietly, she flipped her chemistry book shut, giving up on trying to study for now. She'd need to build her energy back up before she tried to sit for too long. Stretching, she stood up and straightened her clothes, pulling Idina's leash out of the dresser drawer she kept it in and laughing as the dog skittered excitedly around her.
"You ready to go girl?" Caitlyn asked, laughing again at the bark she got in reply. "I thought so." With that, she hooked the leash to the dog's collar and made her way outside, waving to her Aunt Frances as she went. Spring was settling over the little town, and the weather was finally warming up. Thank goodness, she thought, tired of the cold weather. Winter was wonderful when it finally came, but it didn't need to last quite so long, as far as she was concerned. She much preferred the warmer weather. Apparently, so did Idina. The little dog trotted her way almost without looking down the trail marked through the woods behind the cottage, little nub of a tail wagging happily. Caitlyn smiled and hummed to herself, feeling her energy slowly returning to her. She loved spring.
