2nd Gen Karaoke Night!: Sing Your Feelings {Group Thread}

[Jo Karnstein]

It wasn’t long before one of the other members of the table started chattering on, and hey, Jo had no problem with that. How could they with a sister like theirs? Although this one seemed to chatter a lot out of nerves rather than just enjoying the sound of their own voice. And apparently the girl giving their sister heart eyes was named Vivi, cute name for a cute girl. “I do, she’s my sister, actually…” They pointed towards the stage. “Cal Karnstein…” Then they pointed to themself. “Jo Karnstein.” And of course just as Jenny was introduced, she apparently decided to get the hell out of dodge…okay, rude much? That sort of crap wouldn’t fly in the Arendelle court…but all right then, Lorelei seemed determined to point everyone out.

“Well, can’t say I’m surprised, seems like there’s always a ton of people at this school, from what I’ve heard…how exciting.” A wicked little grin straight from their vampiric mother crossed their lips as they scanned the crowds. Just…all of these different people to meet. It’d be awesome, especially if a bunch of them looked as cool as they thought and…

…annnnnnd that was Blossom, wasn’t it? Er, John. God only knew they weren’t about to call anyone by a name they didn’t want. There were days where you had better have a death wish if you were going to call them Johanna, after all…it seemed like he at least had found a friend? Even Cal worried about their nephew, and Jo always worried more than Cal did, so you could imagine how concerned they often were about his darker tendencies.

They shook their head and turned it back towards Lorelei and Vivi. "You two planning on performing? I'm pretty sure my sister and I will be dueting and I'll definitely have a solo number..." Then they pointed towards Lorelei. "You seem ready to make an impression."

[Cal Karnstein]

You know the best thing about microphones? When they were cordless. Okay, yeah, technically most people would probably stay close to the stage, particularly for the ending of a song that required you to really get into it and all. But Cal wasn't most people: she pretty much did this for a living. Plus, she could tell that lots of people had gathered, including at least a handful that were at least as big of spotlight hogs as Cal herself. Fortunately, the spotlight could be shared, and it wasn't like Cal had picked a hard song to really sing.

First though, Cal did have to show off: "We've come too faaaaar. To give up who we aaare---so let's raise the baaaaaaaaar---~' Yeah, by this point, Cal was all but shrieking into the mic in the way a rock star could pull off, and she was pulling it away as she hit the last bits: "And our cups to the staaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaars!~" why yes, she did bent back and wail, wait a moment, then it was time to start moving. Cal unwound the mic in an instant, hopping off the stage.

"She's up all night to the sun~" and of course she pointed at Vivi, winking. "I'm up all night to get some,~" directly to her chest, as she started rolling. "Shes' up all night for good fun~" a point toward the back, toward a girl Cal knew as Polly (Nancy), then, since embarrassed the shyer nerds she knew, and she'd about reached the section where Rhett, Aiden, Mordred, and Tristian stood... in other words, two people that Cal just knew could about wail at her rate, plus Mordred, and a girl she'd slept with. So she practically handed the mic over to them, half expecting either Rhett or Tristian to just outright grab it. "We're up all night to the sun, we're up all night to get some~"

Which would of course lead to the chorus, with Cal getting anyone and everyone who wanted to practically shout the chant to them, actually building up a sweat as she went. That is, assuming that Rhett and/or Tristian didn't outright steal her mic. In which case Cal would still finish by singing, just without that aid.

But hey, at least she was done and could start relentlessly flirting interacting with people!

[Lorelei Summer-Lac]

So many people all over! Lorelei kept wanting to squeal and go run to greet a sibling or a friend or get to know someone new or something. That wasn't even considering the rainbow-hued scene stealer that seemed determined to get everyone to start singing and partying along... and apparently was kinda forward? Sort of sexy... and definitely a character. Lorelei made a note to definitely catch her name for later fanfiction.

And apparently the girl she was talking to knew said name. Jo and Cal Karnstein... "Elsa and Carmilla's kids?" asked Lorelei, tilting her head. "I think my mom knew one of your moms?" she scrunched her face, considering. There was definitely some sort of meeting there. Plus, Gwen was super cool, and these two Karnsteins were almost painfully cool. Apparently those girls got all the cool.

"What? Oh, yeah, I'll probably sing something," Lorelei said, rocking on her heels, bobbing; pretty soon they were all probably gonna be singing "get lucky," she glanced at Vivi, noticing that Cal had pointed her out in particular, and her sister was staring pretty noticeably. Questions... "Maybe we could do a few sister duets?" suggested Lorelei. "I've got a few sisters around, though I definitely don't wanna follow that," she pointed toward Cal, laughing a little. Lorelei was more the sort who would need ridiculous amounts of autotune to sound palatable.

[Tristian]

“That good huh?” he said as he watched Aiden knock back the drink.

His eyes wandered to the bruises again and something was telling him that he knew exactly what they were. Well now, wasn’t that interesting, he wondered what guy (or girl, he wasn’t quite sure on that one yet) gave her those, either way, looked like it was a fun night. Although…potentially still a part of her self-destructive spiral. These sorts of games were fun…but there were rules, boundaries…something about these bruises didn’t look ‘planned’. Of course…he could just be way off…

He was about to suggest the two of them bail early on this, at least after a couple of songs, and head somewhere with more glitter, when they were joined by another guy who seemed to know Aiden. Tristian watched him with a smile and couldn’t help but be reminded of some of the young men that came into the club, sitting in the front row cheering on the queens. He reviewed the makeup, not bad, a little more eyeliner than Tristian tended to use but it worked with his hair. His clothes were also well put together which wasn’t often for these excitable young gays, normally they went too far but he was balancing it just nicely. Yes. Observation completely, his eyes roaming up and down the young man, Tristian judged that he was ‘worth my time’.

He took the hand that was extended to him in his own and nodded over it, nothing more. To anyone it would look just like he was being strangely formal, however he was sure to look up at Rhett at the last moment and give him a wink. “Prince Tristian Summer-Pendragon of Camelot and the Summer Country, and, likewise…I like your shoes.”

He straightened up again, lingering a little before letting go of the hand and said, “so how do you two know each oth-”

Which of course is when Cal and her rainbow hair went bouncing around the audience and arrived in front of him. He really did not know what to make of the girl following the conversation with his younger sister. He had the overwhelming urge to go all big brother on her, but at the same time he could not deny that he had spent a rather pleasant afternoon tea with her. It was…complicated. When she held out the microphone he smiled, but motioned towards Rhett for the singing, he seemed like he would leap at the chance. Gods did Tristian want to be the one to do it, he did so very much love the spotlight, but there were too many people around right now…he needed to just…take a step back…although he did quietly sing along under his breathe.

[Jesse]

“Yes, it was a joke, did you think it was funny?” asked Jesse with a pleased grin, “I went through a few options, such as ‘Great Balls of Fire’ or ‘Burn Baby Burn’ or whatever it is called, however Eternal Flame seemed like the most tummy tickling option.”

He really was getting the hang of this whole jokes thing. John seemed to get his humour and that made him feel much better about himself. He had a friend, a real friend that was not one of the members of his family (which all appeared to be here from the looks of things) and not only was he incredibly interesting but he got the jokes.

“Why don’t you sing something from your style then? I bet you would be really good at it,” he said encouragingly.

He saw that the current song was coming to an end and getting to his feet he said, "do you think they would mind if I went next?"

[Aiden Mumble]

Rhett was...a lot. He always had been. He had been one of her only friends growing up. His father and her parents had worked together on shows in the past so it was only natural that Rhett and Aiden had fond themselves in many shows together. For a while Aiden liked the shows more than Rhett, but she liked complaining with him and whining about their parents wild expectations. After a while she realized she wasn't just playing along anymore and as performing grew more difficult, the more she clung to Rhett's mutual distaste for what they were doing. The difference being Rhett loved to be loud and entertaining, just not in the way his father desired. Aiden loved everything her parents loved, but grew to hate the loudness and the performing.

Despite reading and answering a few texts while Tristian spoke and knowing Rhett was on his way, Aiden blinked hard at Rhett's shouting. She was pleased to see him, but not quite ready for his general explosive presence. She wasn't exactly in her fittest state and Rhett was of course going to loudly draw attention to it. "Hi Rhett" Aiden said flatly as he addressed her bruises, taking another drink and trying hard not to check and see if people had heard. She hadn't really been hiding her bruises, but that didn't mean she wanted the world to directly focus on them. Aiden betrayed and glance over her glass over at Mordred, not that it mattered if he heard. Or, maybe it did. Whatever.

Aiden shifted uncomfortably, certain Rhett had drawn some attention their way, luckily he noticed Tristian before he had any more to say about Aiden's appearance. The corner of Aiden's mouth twitched. This could be an interesting duo. Tristian was pretty classy whereas Rhett was...well not classy. Not to mention Tristain was somewhere still in the closet and no one could even see Rhett out of the corner of their eye and not know he was gay. Being so close. Aiden caught the wink. Interesting. She liked the idea of them getting along, but the softness in her heart made her uncomfortable. Perhaps this was at least good in the sense that Rhett may be too distracted to try and make Aiden sing with Tristian around.

Aiden was just starting to settle back in, feeling like the attention Rhett's entrance may have gained may have worn off and then Cal came bursting into their presence. Aiden had been ignoring her sing, not wanting to catch her attention and have to have that awkward post one night stand conversation. Thankfully, Cal didn't appear to be the type of person to try and push that. She'd been kind enough to leave the morning after. Plus she'd made pancakes. She was ok. At least Aiden had though so until this moment. Aiden wrinkled her nose and took another drink. Her muscles tensed as a microphone was shoved in their direction. She hopped no one took it. Perhaps if Tristian did then she'd be left out of it, but that didn't seem likely given his attempts to keep his performance life a secret. Rhett on the other hand.

She gave him a dangerous look. Don't do it, She thought. If he took the mic there was a large chance he'd tried to rope her into something as well. Don't, she thought again, staring him down.

[Rhett Hepburn]

Oh this guy was fine. Rhett watched Tristian look him over with a playful smirk and a raised eyebrow, shooting a wink over at Aiden as Tristian bent over his hand. "Prince Tristian, huh? I always dreamed of being a princess, maybe my dreams are about to come true..." He winked at Tristian, grinning and running his tongue over his teeth in a way which could not be mistaken for anything other than what it was intended. He was about to make those intentions very vocal when a microphone appeared in front of him. And Rhett was never one to refuse a microphone.

He grabbed it from Cal without any hesitation, continuing the chorus and making his way over to the stage, thrusting, winking, pointing and popping his hip, his more lascivious moves definitely aimed towards the sexy prince standing at the bar. "We're up all night to get lucky..." Finishing with a popped hip, arm raised in the air and wrist limp, he smirked at the crowd, blowing a kiss in Aiden's direction with a wink. "Don't worry darlings, there'll be plenty more of me to come, but right now I've gotta get my flirt on."

He winked at the nearest guy, who happened to be Gaston Jr and, Rhett was pleased to see, incredibly attractive, before hopping back off the stage and back towards Aiden and Tristian, throwing his arm around Aiden's shoulders and hugging her close. "So anyway, where were we?" He threw Tristian another wink.  "You and me are so duetting, honey."  He grinned down at Aiden, hailing down the bartender and ordering a sex on the beach with a wink, blowing the bartender a kiss.

[Blossom Snow]

"Hilarious." John replied in his deadpan, monotone voice, looking up at Jesse and giving a small nod as Jesse listed his other options. "You made the right choice. That was definitely the funniest option." He turned his attention back to the candle.

He shook his head at Jesse's suggestion. "I don't sing." He said firmly, going back to catching the flame between his fingers. He didn't know or care if he had a good voice, he had grown up surrounded by singers and musicians, and all he wanted to do was distance himself from that. He'd only agreed to come to karaoke because Jesse had asked anyone else would have gotten a resounding 'fuck off'. But lucky for Jesse, and entirely against John's better judgement, John liked spending time with Jesse. He was just hoping that one song would get it out of Jesse's system, and then they could leave and go set fires in the park. If he had to spend too long here he'd be forced to start setting fire to the tablecloths.

Glancing up as the song ended and Jesse asked about going next, John nodded, tempted to even give Jesse a little nudge towards the stage. "You should definitely go next. Go. Go now."

He really wanted this over.

[Genevieve]

Genevieve didn't notice Jenny leave; she was barely aware of anything happening in the bar other than Cal singing. She just about heard Jo introduce herself, and turned her head slightly to look at her and give her a smile. "You're Cal's sister? Nice to meet you - I'm Genevieve, not Vivi." She said, shooting a look at Lorelei before turning her attention back to Cal.

She shook her head as Jo asked if they were going to sing, but as Cal moved off the stage and closer to them, words seemed to get lost somewhere on the route from her brain to her mouth, so she just leaned forward on the table, resting her chin on her hand. She watched as the new guy took the microphone, and smiled as Cal finally seemed to be free.

Slipping out of her seat, she shot an 'excuse me a moment' towards Lorelei and Jo, and headed straight for Cal, tapping her gently on the shoulder and smiling. "Hi. You looked good up there."

[Meredith Emrys-Pendragon]

Meredith giggled slightly at his attempt to jedi mindtrick her, turning up her nose theatrically and sniffing with pretend disdain.
"Your mind tricks will not work on me, they only work on the weak willed." she teased, but she also took the hint not to push it - she'd talk to him later, when they were alone and not surrounded by literally everyone who knew them, and get to the bottom of what was bothering him then. For now she was content to let him have a good time, and if he was going to buy her a drink well that okay too.

Only before he'd even got the offer out, Mordred turned up, drink in hand for her. She winced at the mention of whiskey, glancing down at the table for a moment to try and compose herself, before looking up, reaching out to take the offered drink.

"Um... thanks." she said quietly, awkwardly

[Luc DuLac]

Luc glanced over at Tristian as he slid up to the bar beside him, he was about to say something when Tristian started talking to Aiden, and he assumed he'd just seen her and wanted to catch up. Besides, it was nice to be standing as close to him as the crowd around the bar necessitated, and it would be good to have four hands to carry their drinks back instead of two.
Then somebody else had arrived and was immediately flirting with Tristian, and Luc felt his face set into a frown. He glanced over at Rhett out the corner of his eyes, watching for Tristian's reaction carefully.

Likewise. Did he mean the nice to meet you or the sexy beast? He wasn't that good looking, and when he simpered all over Tristian about being a prince Luc had to resist the urge to roll his eyes. Tristian did not need somebody like that around at Camelot. It was just lucky Cal appeared, giving him a chance to calm down - and to listen to Tristian singing along under his breath, bringing a smile to his lips.

It was just when Rhett made his offer (or was it a demand?) that Luc's drinks arrived, and he turned slightly to drop his arm over Tristian's shoulders, he hoped it wouldn't annoy the prince but maybe if he hinted that there was no chance for this Rhett to get what he wanted, he would back off. Nothing at all to do with just wanting to put his arm around the prince.

"Sorry to interrupt," he said bluntly, not sounding sorry at all "Tris can you help me carry these drinks back please?"

[Richard Locksley]

Richard almost rolled his eyes at the girl who suddenly appeared, the way she was so obviously flirting even before she started speaking, and he leaned back in his chair to watch her with a faintly amused smirk. So, one of Tristian's sisters was she? He seemed to have an awful lot if he recalled correctly, Richard could only imagine how tedious that would be.

"Charmed," he drawled with a faint wave of his hand to the young woman, and he expected that to be that, but then Tristian went and invited her to join them.
Then he decided he was going to disappear to 'help' Luc with the drinks, and Richard didn't know what Tristian was playing at but he didn't like it one bit.

"So. Do you sing?" he asked boredly, knowing that small talk would be expected and wanting to at least steer it in a reasonable direction before she started flirting too heavily.

[Lorelei Summer-Lac]

Well, Jenny seemed to have drifted off and found someone of her own. It even seemed like Vivi (or Genevieve, but really, who wanted to say that long of a name when Vivi was so much cuter and more fitting?) had found someone else. Lorelei paused for a few moments, studying her sister, wondering if there was something there that she hadn't noticed before. Certainly her sister seemed happy with the brightly colored girl (who was that... oh, right, one of The Karnsteins, who also had a sister nearby).

Lorelei turned, realizing that she was pretty much left with just the girl she barely knew now. she wiggled a few fingers, before looking around. Oh, it seemed like Jesse had a friend. Mordred was with Meredith and his small circle; someone seemed to be singing, tristian had friends. so everything looked to be in order.

... so what was Lorelei supposed to do?

"I'm gonna go bug my brother," she said, pointing toward Jesse and sauntering that way, beaming at his friend. She didn't immediately recognize the other guy, but that didn't necessarily mean anything...

[Cal Karnstein]

Cal could sense the kindred spirit taking the mic, and she was definitely eager to see what Rhett could do. For now, she was in need of a drink, and she was heading over to wet her whistle. There were plenty of people here to flirt with and talk, and she already winked at Susie and Le Fair and the Hidden Diva.

She'd just gotten her orders in place when a hand tapped her shoulder. Without quite realizing who, Cal turned, grinning, hand going to slide along Genevieve's sides. "I think you mean I look good, period--" she said, smile broadening as she saw who had been doing the teasing. "Hey there, Just Genevieve," the smile was showing fang. "Nice to know you were looking. Can't wait to see what you have in store."

A squeeze, and she looked around. "Soooo, who am I supposed to be watching out for? The golden guy? Please tell me you're not related to Le Fair ,because I'm pretty sure he already knows my secrets..." and that wasn't counting the number of people she'd either flirted with our outright banged in the area...
