"Ah, so attempting to learn more than the prescribed knowledge is worthy of punishment, got it," Luc shot back sarcastically, though he didn't protest any further when the teacher turned back to try and continue with his lesson. He glanced over at Lorelei and shrugged, offering her a faint smile.
"Least I could do," he murmured back, at least keeping his voice quiet for her sake "and I hope so, I do intend to be a knight eventually, of Camelot or the Summer Country, wherever Tristian ends up spending most of his time." not that the crown prince had any idea of Luc's intentions, but he'd known for a long time that he was going to follow wherever Tristian went "...though I do toy with the idea of the priesthood every now and again..."

A knight eventually? Lorelei tilted her head, considering. "You could probably do the Summer country thing," she pointed out, keeping her voice low. The teacher had already punished them; the worst he could do at this point was kick them out, right? Plus the class wouldn't be lasting much longer. "I mean, my mom's kinda the queen, and my dad's kinda the head knight or something, and I think he'd like you,' which was an understatement. Lorelei actually grinned. "He'd probably really like you, actually. Like, adopt you like you."
She giggled at that. Though part of her did sort of like the idea of having another Lac related brother, even if it would be this odd, cute, alternate dimension---
wait a second. Lorelei's brow furrowed.
"Did you say Tris--" she began to ask, just as the teacher finally dismissed the class and everyone started moving at once, creating enough noise to drown out her question.
"I'm sure my father would love that," somebody who was actually close to Guinevere? Who shared his name? Adopting Luc? It would crush him... and as entertaining as that would be, Luc's hatred of his father didn't quite extend that far. Quite.
He huffed an annoyed sigh at the sudden wave of movement, unable to catch the last word of her question. He stood, throwing his backpack over his shoulder and motioning for her to follow him out of the class, leaning against the wall as the stream of people passed and waiting for the crowds to clear so they could continue their conversation.

His father would love it? Maybe his dad was the kind who was all into having two dads or something like that? Or he just wanted whatever was best for Luc? There were a lot of answers and questions there, and Lorelei probably would've started answering them on top of the mention of Tristian.
Except that she found herself getting swept out by the crowd of people. Lorelei let out a chirp as she sort of got shuffled off with the herd. She tried reaching a hand up over the crowd, and at least people started to part, particularly as the teacher loomed forward.
"We need to discuss your detention," he droned in a manner that sort of reminded Lorelei of that one book Vivi made her read, with the professor guy who hated Harry Potter for some odd reason. What was his name again?
The class had pretty much emptied by the time Luc realised Lorelei had been held up, and he peered into the classroom, weighing up his options. If he could distract the teacher long enough for Lorelei to get away, the guy didn't know her name, it would be a fair bet he wouldn't bother to track her down just to enforce his detention, especially not if he focused on Luc instead.
He slipped into the classroom, sauntering over in the most obnoxious way possible while whistling loudly. "Hey teach, so, here's the thing." he hopped up onto a desk across the room from Lorelei, hoping to draw the man's attention so she had room to make a run for it "I know a way you can get me to start actually paying attention in your class or whatever, I just need one really important thing... I need for you to stop being such a power-hungry, controlling, overly finickity a**hole whenever you have anyone you're even remotely in a position of authority over, because let me tell you, kids just really hate f*ckwits like you lording it over them as if they're a gift to the world and automatically better just because they're a bit older, wait, sorry, a lot older."

What was he doing? Lorelei gaped as her not-brother reentered the classroom in what had to be the most obnoxious way possible. The way he addressed the teacher would've gotten him slapped back in Camelot... or, well, cheered (Camelot was weird about when things like that mattered or not). Either Luc really had issues or this teacher was a real butthead. Given that Lorelei only had a bit of time with both... well, she was actually leaning more toward this being a teacher thing than anything else. Though she had to wonder if maybe her not-brother had some serious issues with authority or something.
He did look super-cool though.
It also worked, the teacher turned all his attention and wrath upon Luc. The words had gotten to him to such a degree that he'd started purpling and stopped managing to form words. He was storming toward the desk, likely to get detention slips. However, said distraction didn't work for one major reason: Lorelei was still standing there, not quite realizing her role, and mostly ogling this strange new guy who was already ready to essentially take a detention bullet for her.
Luc kept his gaze on the teacher, until he realised there was an absence of movement behind him and he glanced backwards, surprised to see her still standing there staring at him.
"What are you doing?" he hissed under his breath, giving her a 'shoo' motion "Go on, get out of here. Don't worry about the detention, I won't go to it anyway."
He looked back at the teacher, eyes scanning for a way to keep him turned away and distracted so that Lorelei could make her escape. He hopped off the desk, gave her another wave to get out of there and sauntered - quickly, but a saunter nonetheless - over to where the teacher was, passing him to lean against the board and keep the man's attention his way.
"So does waving those bits of paper about make you feel special? Is that what it is? Because I've faced down actual armoured knights on horseback and you're just not as threatening."

Doing? Oh, wait, he was making a distraction! Lorelei totally should've noticed that before now. Then again, this wasn't exactly the sort of situation she found herself in that often. Something about detention and---and was he planning on skipping it? "You can't do that!" she all but yelled, flailing her arms. It might have worked, except Luc moved in a way to totally get attention.
Lorelei hesitated once more, just this last time. Should she run? He was throwing himself on it. Was that what you were---this teacher was kind of a jerk, right? Could they both get out? Not without hurting someone.
Lorelei started edging out then, sideshuffling. She still felt bad about it, but maybe she could just talk Luc into going later anywhere.
He was glad his movement was just in time to keep the teacher from being distracted by her almost-shout, he was doing this to get her out of trouble after all. He did his best while he spoke to watch her out the corner of his eye rather than looking directly at her, not wanting to draw attention to her. She was taking forever to get moving and he wasn't sure how much more taunting he could do without getting him outright expelled, the teacher was still spluttering incoherently at his insolence so he decided to try a different tact, just to drag it out a little longer.
"No, you're right, that was unfair of me, you're just trying to teach and I was being disruptive and rude, I mean, I just kept talking even though I knew you wanted me to pay attention. Not that I really cared about what you were teaching, I'm just being honest here, honesty is a good thing, right? I mean my mother always used to tell us lying was a sin and sinners go to hell, and while she also pretty much thought that everything up to and including looking at her funny was a sin worthy of hell, there's some things that I regretfully have to agree with her on. Sometimes. Depends on the lie I suppose."

Any slower, and she'd miss this chance. Still, Lorelei could feel herself just hesitating, just for the barest moment. She thought... well, he was distracted, he being the teacher. So Lorelei raised her hand. Her lips moved slightly, the eyes flashed golden, and one of the desks just exploded with paper. It fired out and went in all sorts of directions, spewing forth in one giant fountain.
Lorelei barely waited. She spun, slapped her back against the wall and had to fight conflicting urges. Should she start giggling? Or should she try and wave Luc over? Well, for now, she had to wait, and hope that the teacher and/or Luc figured out something to do with her distraction...
When the desk exploded, even Luc was taken by surprise - a fact that was very obvious to the teacher and probably the only reason he wasn't immediately expelled, despite not having even the slightest bit of magic. While the teacher, apoplectic with rage, started flailing his hands around and yelling to the room at large about finding out whoever did that and ensuring they'd be in detention for the rest of their natural life, Luc took his chance. There was no way he was going to stick around to see if the teacher decided to turn his ire back on Luc as soon as his explosion-induced rage calmed down, so he darted out the classroom before the yelling had stopped.
He stopped in the corridor, leaning against the wall to catch his breath and try and not start laughing at the whole chain of events.
