Meredith was pleased when Lorelei happily changed subjects, however clumsy her shift had been. She didn't want to start worrying about weird things happening with her magic, she wanted to put it down to stress and move on and not have another thing on her plate to worry about. If it kept happening she could worry about it later, but for now she would ignore it pointedly.
"Me and Gaston?" she said thoughtfully "Huh... I never... I can see how it would work though, I mean we are best friends, we're into all the same things, we'd probably make a really cute couple." it wasn't something she'd ever considered before, Gaston had been her best friend since they were both crawling and she'd never thought of him any other way, but maybe, if things were different... she shook her head slightly and frowned at the mention of the Locksley boys "I don't think Eddie and I would work out at all, and Richard?" she made a disgusted noise "He's awful to Eddie, I'd never do that to a friend."
"Do you mind if I read a couple? And you should take it easy for a bit, just in case that spell didn't heal as much as it looked like it did, why don't we just have... quiet reading hang out time?" she suggested with a faint grin. It would be nice to spend some relaxed time with a friend, just having the occasional laugh or joke and not having to solve any problems or put the world to rights.

Lorelei nodded. "Yep, made total sense to me. I started by pairing off my friends for the most part," she shrugged. It made perfect sense to her, after all: Mom did it all the time, usually to the benefit of everyone involved. Lorelei did make a mental note that Eddie was the decent Locksley and Richard the jerk. That did work with her notes on the subject.
"Oh yeah, totally," said Lorelei, bobbing. "They're for reading and all. I think, like, some of them are, like, personal? So don't judge me," she giggled, then rolled her eyes, "though we're probably totally past that right now. But I'm totally up for reading time," she smiled, nudging her friend, "though fair warning: I totally fell asleep when Vivi did the reading thing with me."
Though Lorelei doubted she'd be going to sleep any time soon. Still, a lot of quiet reading time with Meredith sounded like a plan.

Meredith nodded along, it seemed to make perfect sense, though she couldn't help but giggle at the judging comment. "Don't worry, I've written some pretty bad fanfiction... admittedly not about people I actually know, but I'll just avoid the ones about my parents and we should be fine," she laughed, digging through the books until she found a promising looking story, making herself comfortable at her desk chair.
"Falling asleep is fine, I'll wake you up if you sleep too long," she smiled, opening up the book and settling down to read.
