Nancy was...really not comforted by that answer. That answer sounded rather terrifying to be honest. What else did Lorelei know then? And then there was that strange look on her face...she really hoped that was due to whatever she was taking for her apparent injuries and not her being, like, possessed or something. The last thing she needed was to deal with that. Despite her heritage, she knew nothing about expelling the possessing kind of demons. And she also had no idea how to deal with the fact that someone she had never met knew who she was and apparently knew what she was, because seriously, was she being stalked? Was this the part where she found out that there was some basement that Lorelei frequented that was covered in pictures of her as she tried to find a way to manipulate her way into her life or something--??

...but then she saw that the girl had apparently forgotten she was standing up. That somehow made the more paranoid side of Nancy's brain shut up.

...although then Lorelei said she did have photographs and the panic sunk in again. Her eyes only got wider and wider as Lorelei explained she had information on her parents and "stuff"...Yeah, I don't know if I'd be so quick to say you're NOT creepy, this is about as creepy as it gets outside of the Underworld!

...but then she kept thanking her for the candy...this girl's behavior was giving her some serious whiplash. She held up her hand and said, "No, that's okay, I'm kind of full from lunch right now," pleased that she came up with a good excuse. "But...okay, I'm just trying to figure out how and why you found all of this out...and where did you get those pictures, are you just...following everyone or something? I know you said you're not creepy, so I would hope not, I'm just really confused." Again, very diplomatic despite how badly she wanted to run and hide...she really DID deserve some candy after this.

The questions sort of drifted in a haze. It was almost like Lorelei was hearing them form a distance, and she had to struggle to focus. The candy helped, or so she told herself as she took another bite from the bar in her hand. Lunch? Had she missed lunch?

"Different places," she said noncommittally. "I also sketched a few of them based on different accounts and all. I just... asked around and read a lot and stuff," Lorelei frowned, seeming to again realize that this did not sound all that great. "Like, I was just really interested in Tintagel and the people who come here and stuff. So I did lots of reading and studying in it. SO I ended up getting hooked on it and, like, it became a sort of thing? Like, I found all the information I could from talking to people and reading old journals and writing letters to some people and stuff. 'cuz I just really wanted to know stuff about people. Not to, like, do anything bad. I mean, I know magic, but the good kind of magic."

Lorelei paused then, deciding now was a good time to take another bite of her candy. That explanation worked, right? Totally comforting?

There was just something about Lorelei that, while bizarre, was hard to stay scared of, Nancy was realizing as she went on about the different ways she got the information she had. She supposed, at the end of the day, it wasn't that different from how her mother got story ideas. Mom was insistent on never making it obvious what inspired certain events in her stories, never having direct copies of people she knew or events that happened...but that hardly meant that she didn't find out whatever she could. She just...didn't necessarily make a goal of it, she just happened to learn a lot about the people she met. Lorelei was definitely taking that to the next level, but...she supposed it was overall harmless?

"I wouldn't judge on the magic thing, I mean...if I was going to do that, what am I doing here, right?" she asked, rubbing the back of her neck. "Sorry, I...get a little jumpy. Kind of runs in the family...but I guess it makes sense, wanting to know more about this place. Maybe it's even smart, helps you know what to expect." After all, how many times had Mom warned her that this place would try to kill her?

"No kidding," said Lorelei, adding a laugh that might have resulted in some chocolate coming out. Lorelei snagged some of it in her hands, stared at a minute, and licked while she heard Nancy's apology. A nearly chocolate smeared smile was thus beamed up at her afterward.

"Sure does! And if you need any help, you just gotta ask. Oh!" Lorelei began patting herself down, before coming up with what appeared to be a fairly decent smartphone. She carefully held it up for Nancy to grab, then seemed to think twice, pulling back. She used her shirt to wipe bits of chocolate off, then handed it up again. "You can put your number in there! Then I can call you or something and we can talk when I'm not craving chocolate and just swallowed a few pain pills. Though you might not know the difference."

Which made Lorelei giggle, and she felt her phone starting to wiggle in her hands, very nearly threatening to slide out of her grip entirely.

Nancy managed a weak smile at her comment, which fell almost immediately as she had to watch her let chocolate fall out of her mouth, and then watched her lick it straight off of her hands. Oh...oh that was pretty gross. At least it hadn't fallen on the floor? She had a feeling Lorelei definitely would've licked it off the floor, and that would've been the end of this conversation, definitely would've been done there. But again, she was trying hard to not be too judgmental towards the girl who was just enjoying her chocolate.

This did become a bit more of a problem when Lorelei handed over her chocolate covered phone though...sure, she wiped it off, but she still remembered the whole licking thing...oh, but she couldn't be rude and tell her no, could she? Again, Lorelei was clearly harmless, if a bit strange, and...and well, wasn't that sort of thing exactly why she felt isolated back in Chicago? She couldn't...she couldn't be the reason someone else might feel that way...besides, this was why hand sanitizer existed, right?

She smiled again, accepting the phone, especially before she wound up dropping the damn thing. "Uh, yeah, sure..." And see, she had figured it was the pain meds...gods, she could only imagine what had happened to her arm there. "Sounds fun...and I mean..." Here she paused, hesitated, because...did she really want to give the girl the invite to pry into her life? Then again, it seemed she was going to be doing that anyway, so might as well have some control over the situation, right?

Rubbing the back of her neck before she began typing in her contact information. "If you want to ask me anything, since you're all into figuring out everyone at this school, I...I think I'd be okay with that." Then she handed back the phone, already wondering if saying that had been a mistake, and hurriedly adding, "Although I might say no to some questions. I don't know. I'm not sure what you're trying to figure out."

Lorelei's head bobbed at the mention of fun. She was almost tempted to start clapping but, well, she was pretty sure that wasn't a good idea. The chocolate was clearing working. Or the pain meds were wearing off. Lorelei preferred the former explanation, even if the medically trained part of her got rather insistent about the other being right.

"I promise I won't get too weird," said Lorelei. Her brow scrunched as she considered it. "Um, or, like, this weird," she gestured at herself, another pause. "Weird for the school. I'm a lot more fun without the meds. Okay, that's mostly true. I think." She paused agian, then absently took another bite of her chocolate, considering.

"I'm mostly just trying to find out about everyone. We're all so interesting! Well, everyone else is. I'm just sort of here. Watching people. Figuring stuff out. Writing it down. Might be getting some accurate accounts." Or just making friends, but Lorelei didn't quite want to admit that. She was already feeling sad and pathetic as is, without tossing that into the mix as well.
