It was kind of nice that she didn’t want to break her promise to Eddie, and she was so firm about it too, he couldn’t help but smile. It was also frustrating though, what was it that Eddie felt that he couldn’t tell him but could tell a complete stranger. Even if that stranger was super sweet and very pretty.
He felt bad for the ‘lovebirds’ comment the minute she squeaked, he looked extremely apologetic and said, “Sorry, I was only teasing a little, it’s just not usual that Eddie meets someone as nice as you are.”
His phone went off and he said, “sorry, I’ll just turn that…oh…hang on a second…excuse me.”
Seeing that it was Nancy he smiled a little and fired a message off, a reply came almost instantly and he smiled even more. He had sent another one before he remembered he should probably stop being so rude and explain what was happening. “I’m sorry, it’s my friend Nancy, she’s with Eddie and apparently he’s looking for you,” he said with a grin.
Teasing. It has only been teasing. Dusty wasn't sure she was ready for that kind of teasing. It hadn't been that long since the Arkady incident after all. She wasn't sure she wanted anything like that again. "It's alright," she hurried to reassure Gaston. "Though I don't know how Eddie doesn't meet nice people. They're all over the school."
There was a sound and Dusty was confused for a moment until she realized what the sound was. "Oh, sure." She didn't mind waiting a second.
"Oh," she said at the explanation. "He's looking for me? Oh. Good. Are they gonna meet us?"
Gaston Jr nodded excitedly and said, “They are! They are going to meet us at the comic book store!”
This had gone even better than expected and he was beginning to think this ‘wingman’ job was a lot easier than people made it out to be. Plus it meant he got to see Nancy again, and show her the comic book shop. He couldn’t wait to show her the wall of lightsabres, she would love it, and it would be good to see her smile again. And of course he would get to see Eddie and Dusty find each other again, and see his friend happy which was even better.
“We better not keep them waiting,” said Gaston jr, picking up his pace, “I can’t wait to see Eddie’s face when he sees you. This is gonna be great!”
