Tristian regretted it the minute he had said those words to Mordred but after everything, after all of it, the exhaustion of always hiding, of biting his tongue and carrying on, he just did not have the energy in that moment. He would deal with it later, he would see him later, when he was calmer, when they both were and maybe the two of them could work it out. They had been friends for this long, and yes, Mordred had not hurt two of his sisters…but in the end, he was in love with the bastard…he was going to forgive him everything…he knew he was…just…not right now…
Looking back down at Lorelei he said, “no one hates you Lorelei, no one hates you at all. And it’s ok to cry, crying is the body’s way of healing itself, so you cry all you want, ok?”
He stroked her head and watched as Meredith worked away, when she tried to heal herself again he gently took her hand, it was better she didn’t use up too much energy. And then the sirens came and he heaved a sigh of relief, “that’s more help, you’re going to be fine, we’ll get you checked out and hey, maybe they’ll give you one of those terrible hospital gowns.”
As the paramedics surrounded her he stood back a little, but not too far away so that she couldn’t see him. He smiled at her in what he hoped was a reassuring manner as the paramedics did their job, attempting to load her on to the stretcher. He turned to Meredith and said, “I’m going with her, you should come too, just in case.”
‘And because I don’t want to leave you with him’ he thought.
Looking over at Jesse he said, “Take Lorelei’s sword back and then come meet us at the hospital.”
Without another word he followed the paramedics lead, where Lorelei went, he would follow.
“…and that’s it really, see, quite simple, ah! Your friends are here, the paramedics,” said Jesse to the man on the phone, “well it’s been lovely chatting to you, thanks awfully for all your help.”
Jesse watched as the Paramedics swarmed around Lorelei as he hung up on Todd and placed the phone back in his pocket. Mordred still had not left yet but the coffee girl looked like she was trying to take him away. Walking over to them he said, “I am sure she will be ok now, seems like Meredith had a good magic day, probably the adrenaline, and the professionals are here now. So I’m sure it will be ok if you go.”
When Tristian gave him another order he nodded and said, “ok, I’ll see you there!”
He looked back at Morded and Aiden, smiled and said, “well…goodbye,” he walked a few steps and then stopped, turned around and looked back at Aiden, “we should do this again sometime. But no coffee next time, I don’t like coffee, tea is good. Yes. We should have tea.”
He waved, and then turned and walked away, swinging the sword around in circles at his side.
