Had Milo possessed more of a flirtatious nature, he probably could have come up with several things to say about how else Apollo might be able to help by touching, but he was Milo, and even the idea of saying something like that would probably have sent him into a fit of embarrassment.
He was acutely aware of Apollo's presence behind him, and it made him feel...electrified. Like there was some kind of current of energy in the air between them, leaving him feeling a little breathless and a lot alive. He could feel Apollo's breath on his skin as Apollo lingered over his shoulder, and he had a hard time focusing, lost for a moment in the urge to lean back against the god behind him. But...he didn't want Apollo to think he wasn't taking this seriously, so he shook off the jitters and went back to inspecting the object in front of him.
"I'm not sure," he admitted. "There doesn't seem to be nearly enough repetition for either of them to be alphabetic, but they're definitely two different scripts. But for what it's worth, I don't see Loki mentioned anywhere yet," He glanced back at Apollo, shooting him a quick grin. He took a step to the side, moving slowly as he scanned over the three little lines of writing. "I'm gonna try something," he warned, reaching into his pocket and pulling out his handkerchief, shaking it unfolded. "I'm just wondering if it's resistant to being touched by anything, or if it has some kind of safeguard against being touched by a living being." He held the handkerchief out between both hands, managing to hold both the corner of the cloth and his new magnifying glass in one hand, and tried to drape it over the sphere...
