This was the greatest interaction he had ever managed with Tristian, he almost didn't want it to end, but he also knew they were nearly at the classroom and they'd have to take their seats or they'd be late. Still, he felt like he'd made a good impression, perhaps even good enough for Tristian to remember him in the future.
Especially when he was leaning in and saying yet another thing that was definitely very flirtatious and maybe it was just Tristian's natural state, he was after all charming enough to be particularly popular both back in Camelot and here, maybe he made everybody feel this special. Even if that was the case, Luc didn't care, he was enjoying it too much.
Tristian laughed at that, again, the real kind that made his nose wrinkle in the way he didn’t like, but for now, he didn’t care.
It really was a pity this was so obviously straight, Tristian would have had him in the stationary cupboard faster than you could say ‘voulez-vous coucher avec moi’. He sighed internally; he sure knew how to pick them. He had a type, and he was just going to have to live with that. Still, in the meantime he could enjoy the eye candy.
He inclined his head to the classroom and said, “We should probably go in, unless you have any better ideas?”
God he wished he knew everything in the world that Tristian found funny so he could keep saying it and keep making Tristian laugh like that, it was one of the most beautiful things he'd ever seen. Luc was well aware he had it bad, that he was too far gone and really quite pathetically in love, but he also didn't particularly care. Especially not when something as simple as seeing Tristian laugh like that filled him with enough joy to probably last him the whole day, and now it had happened twice.
"If I skip one more class they're probably going to try and kick me out," he admitted with a sigh, glancing towards the classroom with reluctance. The urge to suggest they both skip was so high it was almost impossible to resist, but he didn't want to draw Tristian into one of his misdemeanors, so he headed into the door "But maybe we can talk again some time?"
“Ooh a bad boy are we?” said Tristian with a wink, “well, I will not lead you any further into temptation.”
Tristian was about to walk into the class when the boy suggested that they meet up again some time. Normaly Tristian would have given whoever was asking a smile and a ‘We’ll see’, it was always best to act a little aloof, kept them interested and made them think you weren’t that easy. With others it also made him seem more selective, like he would need time to decide whether that person would be worth wasting any more words on.
However without even hesitating he found himself saying, “I’d like that.”
There was just something about this ‘Luc’ he just seemed incredibly easy going, that was it, just putting Tristian too much at ease.
“Tristian Summer Pendragon, Luc Du Lac! Get in here!” shouted the teacher.
Tristian rolled his eyes and said, “already getting me into trouble Du Lac? Bad Influence”
He gave him one last wink and headed into the classroom.
Great...now he had another incredibly hot straight boy to chat with. Sometimes his life really sucked. But oh well, at least he would have something nice to look at in his loneliness.
Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil..
It was likely deliberate that Tristian was almost quoting the lord's prayer, Luc knew he liked to be well informed about everything that was happening in the kingdom that would one day be his, and he seemed the type to get to know a little more about the religions of the people he was ruling (like his father, not that Luc would ever mention that to him). Perhaps he was warning him away, or challenging him to go against his faith... unless Tristian didn't know about his faith and the quote was a coincidence, that was also a distinct possibility. He should probably stop trying to analyse every word that came out of Tristian's mouth.
"I'd like that too," he smiled back, and it took physical effort to keep that smile something relaxed and friendly rather than the pleased grin that almost threatened to spill over, he didn't want to look stupid, but he was genuinely happy.
"I'll have to make it up to you sometime," Luc winked back as he followed Tristian into the class and walked past him to head up to his own seat at the back of the room. School was beginning to look up.
