Name:
Princess Meredith/Meredith Emrys-Pendragon depending on where she is
Age:
17
Parents: Merlin Emrys and Arthur Pendragon
Personality:
Meredith is definitely not the princess type. She's more at home ripping her dresses and running through mud than she is curtsying and smiling politely, and she'd rather be Princess Leia than Princess Buttercup. She's a friendly sort of person, capable of at least pretending to be graceful and pleasant in important social situations (as long as they didn't go on too long, and as long as any visiting princes didn't try to take any liberties. Ever since The Fork Incident she was not allowed to be seated next to visiting nobility), but she much prefers the relaxed kind of friendliness. She's happy to allow anybody into her social circle as long as they're willing to talk about star wars, and like both of her fathers is fiercely defensive of her friends.
Though her academic prowess and looks would seem to suggest she takes after Merlin, it's very clear that her brash nature and strong will come almost entirely from Arthur. She's willing to stand up to just about anyone she thinks is wrong, whether it's the wise thing to do or not, and it often gets her in trouble, as does her quick temper and tendency to act before she thinks.
Appearance:
Meredith would actually make quite a typical princess...with a little makeover. She is classically pretty, but it's usually hidden under comfortable, baggy clothing and a layer of dirt. She rarely wears makeup and her hair is often loose and unstyled or thrown into a ponytail to get it out of the way. Though she's been forced into gowns plenty of times in Camelot, since arriving at Tintagel she's more likely to be wearing jeans and a t-shirt, especially if that t-shirt has some kind of nerdy slogan on it. She's slender and quite sporty, at least when it comes to riding or combat-based exercise, traditional sporting endeavours are often ignored; marathon means TV and popcorn, not a run.
History: Meredith Emrys-Pendragon is not officially the child of either of her parents, but when your parents are the King of Camelot and his (very male) court wizard, that's sort of to be expected. Officially, she's the King's ward, much like her aunt Morgana was before her, only less evil.
She grew up quite happily, content with the many secrets their family had between them, feeling a sort of special camaraderie because of them. She got on particularly well with Gaston Jr because of their shared love of all things nerdy - encouraged and cultivated, of course, by Arthur.
When the chance came to go to Tintagel, she obviously jumped at it, delighted to go to the same place where her parents fell in love - and get out from under the pressure of royal life as well. It was impossible to escape princess lessons when they were being run by Queen Quinevere, who was a master at tracking down wayward teenagers, but here? A place where she could not only easily skip princess lessons but attend fencing and archery and assorted other combat lessons as well? She was practically packed before they even finished telling her she could go.
