Sam Vimes is the security guard at Tintagel. He's got a bit of a chip on his shoulder, and can be gruff and sarcastic at times. However, he's got a good heart and a strong sense of what's right and wrong. If you're in trouble, he's one of the most reliable people to call. But that isn't to say that he won't have a reprimanding word for you when he helps you out of it.
It's sort of hard to be friends with Vimes. He's not all that affectionate, and the only way you'll know if he's truly your friend is in those odd moments when he doesn't snap at you when he usually would. But those are few and far between.
However, it is easy for Vimes to collect plenty of enemies. He's got a real knack for it. Not only is he obnoxious, nosy, judgmental, and grouchy, he also really doesn't like kings. Really doesn't. So naturally, he's going to be very upset that this place is practically a breeding ground for kings and other monarchy.
No lovers for this man though. He has a fiancee at home, and he's rather fond of her.
