Personality: Mufasa grew up in a fairly small family and was the first born. From a young age he knew he would someday replace his father on the throne and would need to rule the Pridelands. Though naturally endowed with a quiet power, Mufasa had to learn his most recognizable trait: patience. He wasn’t always the tolerant man he is today, and in his youth learned the consequences of hasty actions. Occasionally he will joke with his brother that Scar had a heavy hand in it as well, but that’s all in good fun.
Generally speaking, Mufasa is a father figure. He is a good listener with a quiet nature that begs others to share what is on their mind. Years of ruling both in peace and in war have given him a wisdom that he is inclined to share with anyone who asks. He is generous with knowledge because he believes that a good king must both rule and understand.
He believes passionately and loves deeply, all while keeping a calm, collected face. It is difficult to get Mufasa riled up, but if you do you had best prepare yourself: Mufasa’s temper, though it rarely flares, is legendarily vicious. If someone does cross him, they are more likely to face the brunt of his disappointment, which is sometimes much worse than his outright displeasure.
Appearance: Putting a 500-poud lion into a human’s body is no small task. Mufasa is a tall, broad, imposing figure of a man. He stands well into the six-foot range and though he isn’t the portrait of muscular perfection, his solid, barrel-chested form emanates a power reminiscent of his true animal form. His hands are large, with thick fingers. There is a lack of lean gracefulness to him, but he still manages to carry himself with a regal grace and practiced pride.
One thing that Mufasa is slightly self-conscious about is his lack of hair. Having been used to a thick mane, suddenly being bald has been a bit of a shock. His wife likes to tease that the transformation gifted her all of the hair. Mufasa really does wish it was the other way around.
Thanks to his wife, he has managed to master the laws of human fashion rather well. He’s not the snappiest of dressers, but he
knows how to make himself look good and professional.
History: Mufasa was raised, no born to be king. As a young cub, it wasn’t something he was particularly interested in, but he quickly grew out of his petulance when he met his wife-to-be: Sarabi. They were young when they first met, but Mufasa instantly liked the lioness. And it wasn’t only out of the sense of duty he was beginning to feel towards his princely duties. He just liked her.
As he matured and their friendship blossomed, he grew to love her and the Pridelands more and more. They were married in their early adulthood and ruled together as Prince and Princess until the passing of Mufasa’s father in a savannah war. Mufasa was now king, and he took his duty very seriously. He had settled out quite a bit, and garnered a reputation as a kind, strong, and spiritual leader. With Sarabi by his side, and with the love for her in his heart Mufasa felt that they could finally create an everlasting harmony in the Pridelands.
War came and went with the Shadowlands, in which Mufasa earned his reputation as a proud and effective warrior, but also as an effective diplomat. Since that time, the Pridelands have been at peace ever since.
One day Mufasa received note that Sarabi had disappeared on the hunt. Naturally, he could do nothing but follow after her. When he found her she looked…quite different. But what could he do? The portal had closed behind them, and the only way to move was forward.
Mufasa has been able to settle pretty easily into his life at Tintagel, and rather enjoys his position as the government teacher. While he doesn’t act in the official advisory capacity that his wife does, Mufasa often finds himself dishing out advice to young kings.

TELLtheTALE
Sample Post:
"Sarabi?"
Mufasa stumbled, looking down at his front paws only to find them fleshy and dexterous. He looked down over his frame, shock written over his face (which would later provide another surprise entirely). This was...not what he was used to. When he looked up again, he saw her.
She looked different too, but he knew it was her. He just knew. She ran to him and he breathed a heavy sigh of relief, folding his wife in his arms and kissing her temple as her shoulders shook with what he thought were sobs. "You're safe."
"You're...bald!" She said, revealing that her trembling was due to her pent up laughter.
Mufasa's hand shot to his head, finding only skin where once had grown a glorious mane. He couldn't keep away the frown. "It could be worse...I suppose."
Sarabi covered her hand with her mouth and leaned against his chest. "At least we're together."
