personailty: Lancelot is just a little on the cocky and arrogant side, he tries to surpress it because he wants to be the best knight ever, so it comes across more like perfectly ordinary confidence in his abilities. He believes it's his destiny to become one of Arthur's knights, and won't rest until he's proven himself worthy. His cockiness is lowered even further around Arthur and other people he feels respect towards, because being a knight involves showing deference to your superiors, and like any good soldier he will listen to those he believes to be in charge. He tries to make himself sound posher than he is, having found out he was a minor prince only quite recently, he wants to live up to his heritage. He's absolutely terrible around girls, as much as he pretends otherwise while in the company of other men, he really doesn't know what he's doing and often comes across rude or idiotic.
appearance: Lancelot doesn't take much care of his appearance because he's too busy training and working towards being a knight, he usually keeps himself clean and relatively presentable, but he doesn't care at all about fashion or looks, as long as what he's wearing is suitable for what he wants to do. He's quite a handsome man, and while he knows he's not ugly he doesn't think much about his looks, knowing they don't really make much difference when he's so bad with girls anyway.
history: Lancelot was taken by the Lady of the Lake when his father died, and brought up by her, always training towards what he was constantly told was his destiny, a place at the round table that Arthur didn't even have yet.
When he went to Camelot to try his luck, while they said he proved his worth, he knew he hadn't - Merlin's magic had helped him. Not only that, but they wouldn't allow him to become a knight because he lacked noble birth. Returning to his training, he focused on being ready to take on anything, all the while wondering how he could possibly become a knight despite the rules.
As soon as he found out about his royal birth, he set off immediately to find Arthur at Avalon and once more prove his worth.
