That's right Tin Soldiers! This is an announcement for the first run of Bunny's posting extravaganza!

But what is a posting extravaganza?

Well, my fine fellow soldiers, a posting extravaganza is an extended event wherein various members of this fine site do what we do best: post in character! Starting August 25th and lasting till September 29th, or so, this event is to encourage all of us to post, post like we've never posted before!



Okay, you may ask, that sounds good, but what are we really talking about here?

Every member of Tintagel is invited and encouraged to participate

You will be rewarded points for your posts based on the following scale:

• [1] Point per IC post
  
• [2] Points per IC post in a plot related thread.
  
• [10] Points for each thread started.
  
• [15] Points for each open thread started.
  
• [20] Points for each plot related thread started
  

There are some rules:

• Only IC posts count, and they must be full posts, so no using the IC chatting board to cheat.
  
• You only get the highest amount of points. So if you start an open, plot related thread, you get 20 points, not 47.
  
• Plot related threads are up to the judge's decision; he's likely gonna be lenient though.
  
• Remember: you're responsible for keeping track of posts. You can look at your last few posts per character every few days or so, and that will let us know roughly how well you've been doing.
  

Just keep track of your posts, and the runners of the contest (that being Bunny, in this case) will tally up your points and put up a ranking board, which should be updated fairly regularly, because the runner(s) of this contest are a wee bit obsessive about these things.

Also: as you'll see below, you're encouraged to compete directly against Bunny (who posts like a demon). If you wish, you can form a team of up to three RPers, and your school will be totaled for the rewards.



Ah, but what do all those points do for you, right? Well, it's quite simple, you'll get rewards based on how many points you have by the end of the month:

• Everyone who gets at least 10 points gets a graphic announcing that she/he is a Tin Recruit in the Posting Brigade.
  
• Everyone who gets at least 250 points gets a graphic announcing that she/he is a Tin Soldier in the Posting Brigade.
  
• Everyone who gets at least 500 points gets a graphic announcing that he/she is a Tin Officer in the Posting Brigade. (this might be adjusted, depending.)
  
• Any poster (or team) that manages to beat Bunny (yes, just the one guy) will receive the following gift of his/her choice: a personalized fanfiction using whatever characters he/she selects or a graphic of choice created by Bunny. Poster (or team) will also receive a special graphic announcing their victory.
  
• Highest poster (or team) will receive this unique honor: Bunny shall create any character of your choosing, and run him/her for a minimum of one month and at least 20 IC posts. That's anyone, so it's your chance to get whatever character you most need for your own personal plotting. You'll also get the special graphic.

That's right folks! To kick this off, we're gonna have a posting DAY! What's that, you might ask?

Well, basically... it's a day, where you post...

But seriously though: Bunny (that's me again) will be on from the moment I get up till the moment I go to bed, taking breaks only for the necessities. I shall be on, here, and ready to post volley with anyone and everyone who wants to. All posts on this day will count toward the totals, and you're definitely encouraged to throw in with it.

Hey Bunny, how do you want us to record our scores? Are you keeping tabs on it, or should we send you updates on a regular basis? And if you want updates, how regularly do you want them? And do you want us to keep track of our score from the beginning of the month until when we send it to you or from our last update until we send off the new update?

Basically, keep track of your posts and post here to let me know roughly how many you've been doing. I'm operating mostly on an honor system here, since I know most of you guys and there's really no point in lying about something like this (I'd pretty much tell anyway). so basically, every time you think of it, post here letting me know how many posts you've done since your last post here (that's slightly confusing, I know), and I'll do the point tallying from there (though really, the math isn't that hard).

I'll be trying to keep some tabs on everyone, but I'm just not that good and I'm gonna be busy doing other things (like school and posting myself), so again, I'm really trusting you guys to keep track of things yourself and to monitor one another.

Good question! All posts done starting tomorrow count toward the total. It doesn't matter if they're from brand new threads or threads that have been going on for a while already. You'll only get the thread starting bonus for threads started during the extravaganza itself, however.

Just to clarify: the posting day begins, well, technically whenever it hits that time for you. I will be posting and starting my longterm camp whenever I wake up tomorrow morning, and will be on for that.

If everyone could make posts like Lynx's there, that would be awesome.

Also, our first posting day is a moderate success, as you can see by our leader board! Four members are already qualified to be Recruits, and Jasmine and raucous aren't far off themselves.

I'd like to try and organize another posting day sometime in the next few weeks. However, I think it would be better if we could find a day that worked for more people. Today worked alright for a few people, but it was mostly there to kick things off, and I don't think there was enough warning (picking a Saturday might have been a poor choice too). So let me know which days work best for people, so we can organize this thing out ^.^
