Door let a small, tight lipped grin spread over her as Plum pulled her in for a hug. This was precisely why she liked the fairy. Door had probably been more secretive with Plum than vice versa or really, more than you were supposed to be with a friend, but Plum never gave her issue about it. She seemed to understand that this was just something that Door needed to think out and gave her the room to do so. More people would push her to explain what was going on and Door would surely trip on her words and say something wrong. But this girl just let it be.
For a moment, Door reveled in the fact that she was lucky to have a friend like Plum.
Something switched in Door though and she went from somewhat melancholy to her standard upbeat. It wasn't fake though, something she was putting on for Plum's sake. Plum just seemed to bring out the optimist in Door, even when that was becoming more and more of a rarity. "I'll definitely talk to you about it when I figure it all out. It's just all...screwy right now." Door shrugged.
"I appreciate it darling, I really do," she said upon separation.
Plum thought Door was such a dear. She was a lovely girl and she wanted to help her friend in whatever was complicating her life, but if she didn’t know what was going on then she couldn’t help. But Plum understood wanting to keep things private. Having spent most of her life in the public eye she treasured the things she didn’t have to share with her entire Kingdom. During her reign as the Sugar Plum Fairy she was always in the public eye. Even when she was not in public there were always people around. Here at Tintagel she had more privacy than she had ever dreamed about. The best part was that she didn’t have to report every detail of her day back to anyone back home it she’d rather not. She didn’t have to report anything at all if she didn’t want to. And that was very nice.
“Well, whenever everything works itself out you can come talk to me.” She smiled at Door. “Actually, you can stop by any time if you want to talk or if you need anything. Especially sweets. I have far more than I could ever eat. Feel free to drop in whenever.” And she really meant that. She’d always kept odd hours. People had a way of needing a wish at any moment of the day so she was used to keeping odd hours. If Door wanted to pop in at three in the morning there was a chance that Plum would be up.
