Despite everything, Tulio couldn’t help but feel a little relieved that she didn’t know where this guy was. Sure, he would have felt compelled to at least try to follow through with his vows if the jerk was around even if it would probably end with him curled up in a ball trying not to die, but he was much happier not having to fight. In fact now that he knew he wouldn’t have to he could be as brave and heroic as he wanted.
“Then I will find him! I will travel to the ends of the earth in search of this nave! I will cross deserts and oceans and mountains and I will bring him back to you, a sniveling, crying mess who will grovel at your feet and beg your forgiveness!” He said it with conviction, complete with thrusting his hand high into the air.
Man, he really hoped she didn’t accept that offer.
Closing his eyes when Hermia touched his face again, Tulio leaned into her touch, sighing contently. He could stay like this forever and be perfectly happy. He could live solely upon the beauty of her face, her melodic voice, her intoxicating scent. He needed nothing else in his life, only her. He would do anything for her, give anything, be anything, if she would only...
...wait, where did she go?
His blue eyes opening wide, Tulio just caught sight of Hermia’s retreating back as she rounded the corner of the building and disappeared. This time he did not follow. Slowly her words registered in her head, and he opened his mouth to shout that there was no one better, that she was everything, but the words wouldn’t come. A fog seemed to settle in his brain and even as he stood there the events of the past half hour grew murky and confused. He had been going to see a movie... now why was he suddenly standing outside? He remembered going in, buying his ticket, then things got a bit...fuzzy.
Blinking a few times, he scratched his head and slowly began his walk back to the dorms. Maybe he just needed a little sleep everything would make sense in the morning, because if the amnesia he suffered last year was going to become a reoccurring thing he was not going to be happy.
