Merlin didn't feel any genuinely ill feelings against Arthur for all the drama and difficulty he'd faced since falling in love with the prince, but at the comment about making it easier he did give him a rather pointed look - although refrained from mentioning anything about firing or running away, just about.
It helped that he came out with the most Arthurish and slightly pratty declaration of love Merlin had ever heard, and normally that probably wouldn't be a good thing, but it was just so... so real, and romantic, and more than he could have ever hoped to hear from the other man.
"Now?" He resisted the urge to make cheeky replies about having lists or plans or, ahem, fantasies, and focused on the reality of the question. "Well...I... what do you want to do now? Do we have to do anything?" Of course he wanted the answer to be yes, but he also didn't want to frighten Arthur off, so if the prince wasn't ready to hear the words 'dating' or 'relationship' or anything of that nature, he could easily avoid it.
