Personality: Your typical Viking, he eats, he drinks, he hunts, he fights, he has women, lather, rinse, repeat. He gets hot tempered extremely quickly at the slightest thing and takes his anger out on anyone who is nearby. Even if they haven’t done anything wrong. There are only a few people that calm him down in one of his rages, in fact it often comes down to three people; his father Odin, his wife Sif, and on occasion his half brother Loki, but only because he normally caused it, and quickly tries to get himself out of trouble. His mood can change quite drastically from minute to minute, one minute he’s your friend the next he’s bashing your brains out with his hammer. Not a big talker, tends to only speak when spoken too and doesn’t often think about what he’s going to say before he says it, preferring open honesty to choosing his words carefully.
He isn’t the sharpest Axe in the armoury, Thor isn’t known for his great intellect but he is smart in the ways of fighting and war, although he relies on his father for wisdom and sometimes foolishly on his half brother for his cunning. When he’s happy the whole world knows it and as fiercely angry as he can be, he can also be fiercely happy, with his loud booming voice, back slapping and quaffing. He loves quite fiercely as well, he adores his lovely wife and would hear no one speak against her, but he also loves a few other young maidens quite fiercely as well, none compares to his Sif though. Believes in Justice and righting wrongs, although believes that he himself does no wrong (even if he does) and that he is firmly on the side of good, i.e. not on the side of those damn Giants. Loves his Hammer. Likes his pet goats. Hates Snakes.
Appearance: Rough tanned skin, weather beaten as it should be for the god of thunder, long blonde shaggy wet hair that hangs down loosely most of the time but is some times pulled back out of his face with a bit of leather string. Being a God he can choose whatever shape or size he wishes but Thor tends to stay true to his original form, adapting to human size however when he is walking among them, although he still enjoys to tower above them so more often that not tends to pick a height that is still a little larger than most men. So currently he’s standing at 6ft 4inches and is built like a wall, always favouring a multitude of muscles to show off his strength and physique. When with the gods he wears his usual attire, leggings, furs, helmet and armour, when walking around the mortals he does attempt to blend in a little more whilst still retaining his Viking style, favouring leathers and jeans, he dropped the fur though after he noticed it was mostly woman that wore it nowadays. In Tintagel I imagine he’ll switch between the two, what with it being a mix of the two. That and Sif told him to get a nice suit.
History: There isn’t much to say about Thor’s birth as there wasn’t much documentation of it, and it was so long ago he can barely remember it either. He pretty much believes that he was born a grown man. From a young age however Thor has always know how he is supposed to die, at the hands of one of his nephews the large Snake Jormungandr, but far be it for a little prophecy to get in the way of his life and has been happily living out the rest of his immortal life quite happily if with a few major upsets and bumps on the way.
It seems that through most of his life both his father and his brother has constantly played tricks upon him, one of the first ones being when Thor was attempting to cross the river and the ferryman who was his father in disguise refused to take the God across. Another story was when Thor awoke one morning to discover that his great hammer Mjollnir had been stolen, turning to his younger brother for help, he asks Freya to borrow her magic cloak to discover where the hammer is. He returns and tells Thor and Freya that Prymer has it and will not return it unless Freya becomes his wife. Freya does not consent although agrees to help when Loki suggests that they disguise Thor as the goddess and present him as the bride. Thor reluctantly agrees and is dressed as Freya and him and Loki go to the court and retrieve the hammer, although it is remarked that Thor made a very unconvincing bride.
The God he mostly seems to be in conflict with is his half brother Loki, whom is very much like a little kid prodding the alligator until it turns round and snaps at him. In one story he likes to tell, Loki was sat at the table in Asgard insulting all of the gods including Thor’s wife Sif because he had not been invited to the feast. When Thor arrived Loki attempted to goad him four times, each time Thor threatened him and told him to be silent, only after the fourth remark did Loki stop and desist saying that he would only leave the table for Thor because he knew that he was the only one who could…punch his face in. Thor often asks Loki if he wants his face punched in. Loki very often refuses.
Thor has come to Tintagel at the behest of his father, to keep an eye on Loki and to keep a close eye (get it? Cause Odin only has one) on what is going in that part of the worlds, that Mankind may require his help there. Mostly to keep an eye on Loki. He also whished to get out from under his wife’s watchful eye and have just a little fun away from home.
Other: Don’t touch his hammer. Oh and dreams do come true.
TELLtheTALE
Sample Post:
Thor would have preferred to have used his own magic to arrive in Trenale, being one to always make an entrance with all the thunder and lightning accompanying him, but he had been informed that the portal was the only entrance in to that world. He had been tempted to disprove that but had conceded to using it as his fathers request, later he could try, later after he learned more about the other world he was entering.
This other world…
As firs impressions went, he wasn’t particularly impressed. He could feel the magic of it all, he could see the development, the potential, but it was nothing like back home, and it was nothing like the world he used to care for. No, it was difficult to find a place like the good old days, not impossible, but difficult. There appeared to be too much…peace in the land, not enough…challenges…well he would soon see to that.
First things first though.
He threw back his head and roared, “LLLLOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOKKKKKKKKIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!”
Thor smirked, now it was time to have some fun.
