Personality:
Lana doesn’t really have any self esteem or self confidence and thinks the worst of herself. She honestly believes that she is the least talented and least liked of the Triton sisters. She’s very insecure about herself and doesn’t understand how anyone could want to be her friend. She views herself as a girl who will never amount to anything so she never tries. She doesn’t want to let anyone down and the easiest way not to do that is to not try.
Alana is very loyal to her family. She loves her sisters dearly even if she doesn’t think she’s as good as them in any area. She would do anything for them, or at least try. Lana is a really nice person once you get to know her. She can be friendly when she’s not terrified and she’s a great listener. She has total respect for authority figures and does what she’s told without question. She never starts trouble and keeps her head down to avoid trouble. She is used to being pushed, pulled and walked all over. She doesn’t stick up for herself and generally thinks that everyone else is right.
Appearance:
Lana is on the taller side and slender. She keeps her dark brown hair long and her eyes are a friendly brown. Up until recently she’s always had a pink tail and she wore matching pink seashells as well.
Lana isn’t so keen on human clothing though and has no idea about what is fashionable and what isn’t. She does tend to gravitate towards pinks and purples, but she also picks clothes that will help her fade into the background and not be noticed. She prefers to wear skirts or dresses as she still isn’t quite used to having legs and the idea of having something so close fitting around her legs freaks her out a little bit.
History:
Alana is the second youngest of the Triton sisters, Ariel being the only sister younger than herself. Growing up in such a big family she was a very loved child. Her parents, King Triton and his beloved wife Queen Athena always made sure to include her and make her feel loved and cherished. But then, Athena passed away and the whole family dynamic changed. King Triton became more closed off to his daughters and in time, Alana began to fear upsetting him.
As Lana started to grow up into a young woman she noticed more and more her father’s favoritism towards Ariel and withdrew into herself all the more. Of course she still had very strong relationships with her sisters, but she missed her mother very much. She became even quieter than she had been and began to fear that she would never live up to her father’s expectations.
But when it was discovered that Ariel was missing, all hell broke loose. In fear of her father’s wrath Lana locked herself in her room for days, hoping that the whole thing would blow over soon, but it didn’t. One day her father burst in and began to yell, claiming that Lana wasn’t doing anything to help find her sister. That night, when everyone was asleep, Lana swam away from home because she had disappointed her father.
She swam and swam until she couldn't swim anymore. She was tired and swam into a cave to take some shelter, but unknowingly swam right into a portal. She ended up bewildered, confused and scared on a foreign beach with a pair of legs.
