The sharp satisfaction she felt at having drawn blood was lost when she suddenly felt herself being pulled to her feet, wrist being held in a vice-like grip, holding her still even as she tried to pull away from him. She opened her mouth to yell or protest or whatever else she could do to make him let go, but instead she was being pushed backwards against the column as he was kissing her before she even had time to register what was going on.

Her heart was racing and she didn't know if it was the anger, the adrenaline or something else entirely, but it took her a long moment to properly come to her senses enough to respond. With the force of him pressing her back against the pillar, however, there wasn't a lot she could do to respond. She brought her other hand up, beating her fist against his shoulder even as the tiniest, tiniest part of her wanted to respond to his kiss, wanted to pretend that everything was just like it was when they had been curled up on the sofa, watching star wars and making out, before everything had gone awful. Her fingers twined into his shirt, the same way they had done that afternoon, but this time she was shaking him, trying to make him move.

She didn't respond, and this just spurred Mordred on, tangling her hand roughly in her hair and pressing himself against her as he continued the aggressive kiss. His blood was pounding in his ears and he wasn't aware of anything, he had lost all sense of himself. His mind was blank except for the actions of what he was doing - the voice of reason had been silenced entirely, and all he wanted was her, and pain, and her.

It took a long time for him to become aware of her again, of her hand on his chest, and for a moment he began to relax into the kiss, the feeling so similar to her touch that afternoon. But he began to notice the difference - the lack of tenderness, the lack of passion - she was struggling, she was pushing and beating him, trying to get him to move.

He stopped suddenly, taking a small step back as he looked at her shocked at himself but unable to entirely regret his actions. He still had hold of her wrist, and with his other hand he wiped his mouth on the back of his hand, his eyes on hers full of lust and aggression still. "You can't tell me you don't want this..." he muttered softly.

She was almost responding despite herself, pushing up against him in return and throwing her own anger into the kiss, and maybe she was just trying to push him away or maybe it was something else, she didn't even know anymore. Was this his way of trying to make things right? Because it definitely didn't feel right, not at all, and then he broke away and she was left panting heavily, leaning disheveled and overwhelmed against the pillar still.

She felt dizzy, almost, was that the lack of oxygen? She didn't know, but it took a few moments for the pain of his tight grip on her wrist to be noticed again, keeping her from running away as she so desperately wanted to. Instead, she pushed herself more upright, stepping closer to him as she did so.

"I want..." she said slowly, meeting his gaze with eyes just as aflame, but with anger and heartbreak and frustration. Her fingers were still gripped in his shirt and she used it as leverage to shift her weight, drawing her knee back and slamming it into his crotch with all the force she can muster, even on her slightly wobbly legs.

"I want to go home, you absolute bastard."

With a groan of pain he fell to his knees, letting go of her wrist, to bring both hands to cradle his crotch. With tears of agony in his eyes he coughed and looked up at her as she spoke, barely able to focus on her as the pain coursed through his crotch. He hadn't expected that - but perhaps he should have done. He tried to take a few deep breaths and get back to his feet but he was unable to move, instead doubling over and resting his head on the cold, tiled floor.

There were so many insults running through his head, so many cruel and cutting things he could through at her, but he couldn't get the words out, he felt paralysed by the pain she'd inflicted on him. After a couple of deep breaths he finally manage to raise his head and look up at her.

"F*ck off then, bitch."

The guilt was unexpected,just the tiniest flash of it, wishing... wishing it hadn't gone that way, wishing she didn't have to throw things and yell and kick, wishing that Tristian had been right. It didn't feel like he was right now, so she shoved away that guilt and turned on her heel.

She wanted to march off with her head held high, have the kind of moment that people in movies got a "you go girl" for. But life wasn't like the movies, and she didn't feel particularly victorious, she just felt empty.
To her absolute horror, she found herself bursting into tears, practically running out of the coffee shop.

He wanted to go after her, he wanted to call her back and start over, to do it all right, the way Tristian had told him, to fix this... but he couldn't get up. Instead he rolled over, sitting on the floor and leaning against the table.

He watched her go, the tears of pain in his eyes mixed with another kind of tears as he saw her tears falling. He hated himself so much - this was it, it was over now, ruined. And he was probably facing another beating from Tristian. He didn't know what had come over him, he wanted to go back in time and punch himself in the face before he attacked her like that. If he heard anyone else did that to her he would have killed them. But he'd been the one to do it, he was scum and he knew it.

He rested his head back against the table and stared unseeing at the ceiling. "Excuse me? Could I have some ice, please?"
